Hi I'm Marcus

I have lived in Colorado all my life. I am a college student currently working at a bank and studying Accounting. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am from Colorado. I have one sister who is a few years older than I am. I am currently a college student majoring in Accounting. I work at a local bank and hope to continue to work within the banking industry. I enjoying being outdoors. I love to hunt, fish, snowmobile, camp, and do anything else in the mountains. I love my family and friends. They are one of the best things to ever happen to me!

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the church. The majority of my family and all of my really close friends have been members of this church. I love this gospel and the church. The knowledge that death is not the end, that families can be together forever, that there is a living prophet on the earth today, gives me comfort and hope. Our Heavenly Father loves us so much, He gave His Only Begotten Son to die for us. He has provided a way for us to return to live with Him forever. I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God, and that he saw our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. I know that it was through Joseph Smith the Gospel was restored and the Book of Mormon was translated. I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the only true church on the earth today. I know that one day I will be married in the House of the Lord and have my wife and children with me for all eternity. I know I was born into the church so I can help others come unto Christ. This is the place where true happiness is found. It brings me comfort, joy, happiness, and peace. I love this church and gospel. I love the Lord, Jesus Christ, and our Heavenly Father. That is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith by example. I try to always do what is right, no matter the scenerio. I try to do what Christ would do if he was alive today. I strive to gain Christlike attributes to help me be more like my Savior. I attend church every Sunday, and fulfill the things I am asked to. I attend institute, LDS religion courses, at my local university. I try to be the best example I can be, so I may be able to help others. I try to fulfill a quote my seminary teacher once gave me, "If you were charged with being a Mormon, would there be enough evidence to convict you?"

What is the priesthood?

The priesthood is the authority of God, given to man, to act in His name while on the earth. Examples of the priesthood can be seen in both the Old and New Testaments. The power the prophets had and used was the priesthood. That same power is again on the earth. It was restored through the Prophet Joseph Smith. It is given to all worthy men of the church to act in God's name. They are able to baptize people, perform blessings, heal the sick, and many other items. It is a sacred power that is for the benefit of every single human being on the earth. Show more Show less

Mormons believe Jesus Christ is their Savior. Why do we need a Savior?

We are all children of our Heavenly Father. We are placed on this earth to be tried and tested to prove that we love Him and are worthy to return to live in His presence for all eternity. But we are human. We all will make mistakes. We all will sin. Our Heavenly Father knew this, and as the scriptures state, "no unclean thing can dwell in the presence of God." Being that we all would sin, no person could return to our Heavenly Father. That is why He sent His son, Jesus Christ, to this earth. Christ came to show us the example of how we should live. He also lived the perfect life and atoned for all of our sins. He provided a way for us to repent, and be forgiven of the sins we have committed. By doing this, He has provided us a way to be perfect in God's eyes and return to live with Him. Ultimately, we have a Savior so we can have the best gift of all, eternal life with our Heavenly Father. Show more Show less
