Hi I'm Lacy Christensen

I love riding horses, being outdoors, and math. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up the youngest of five children and each weekend of my childhood we would get lost in the mountains of Utah together. At first I hated hiking and complained like the little sister I was. Then as I got older I have learned to love the outdoors more than anything else, especially when it is on the back of the horse. I love riding and running through fields. I have went on millions of trail rides, but if I am not on the trail I love jumping. Flying through the air on a horse is unlike anything else I have ever done and I love it. When the weather is not good I go to college and learn about math and physics. I have always liked solving puzzles and math is my kind of puzzle. Since I was in kindergarten I have always known I wanted to teach. Now I know that I am going to be a math, physics, and statistics teacher in some high school someday. My three dreams in life is to teach school, own a horse ranch, and get married to an amazing man.

Why I am a Mormon

I am LDS not only because it gives me a social life, but also because it makes me happy. Because of this teaching of this gospel I know that my life is better than it would be otherwise. Living the commandments is not a restriction, it is a blessing. Living free of sin is not just a nice fairy tale, through the atonement of Jesus Christ it is truly possible. I am a Mormon because without it my life would lack direction and a purpose. I am a Mormon because it just makes me happy.

How I live my faith

As a young adult going to school I have been very involved in the church and it is a big part of my social life. I have met wonderful people through attending church and other activities. One of the best parts about the church is wherever I go I know that I can find people that will welcome me and care about me in church. The LDS church is the same no matter where you go and I love the consistency as I have went from school to school and lived away from my family. I live my faith by trying to help others and lift them up through times of trials. I try to not just take but to give back all the blessing I have received from the LDS church.

What is a “testimony” that Mormons speak of?

Lacy Christensen
A testimony is a statement of beliefs and is a declaration of what we know to be true. We share our testimony with others so that they can learn and grow from our knowledge and the Holy Ghost then testifies the truthfullness of our words. A basic testimony includes declaring how we have come unto Jesus Christ and how the Atonement has blessed us in our lives, testifying that Joseph Smith is an prophet and did restore the true today, and saying that we are led by a living prophet today or Thomas S. Monson. Show more Show less

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

Lacy Christensen
Yes, I know that there is a living prophet on the earth today to guide us even as the world changes. The trials in our lives today are very different from those in Moses time. That is why we need a prophet to help give us direction for our lives today. I feel the spirit everytime that Thomas S. Monson speaks and it tells me that he is intead a prophet and I strive everyday to follow his teachings. Show more Show less

What are Mormon Temples used for?

Lacy Christensen
To me the Temple is where I can go to be close to my Heavenly Father. They are places where families are joined together unseperably. There is nothing better than knowing I will be with my family forever. I have participated in the sacred ordinances of the temple and they bring me confort and peice. I am so grateful for temples today so I can go and feel of the spirit that is only present in the Lord's house. Show more Show less

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

Lacy Christensen
Missionary work is completely voluntary, and we chose to serve to help other people become closer to God. I am currently serving a mission and not been a better time in my life. You are truely the happiest when you are serving others. I know that I will be blessed for my service, but most of all I love seeing the light of Christ come into their eyes. So no missionary service is not required but it is eternally rewarding. Show more Show less
