Hi I'm Laura

I grew up in Calgary, Alberta Canada. Was married in New York City and love to bake. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I graduated from BYU in April 2012 with a degree in Family Studies and Sociology. I've been married to my best friend for 3 1/2 years. I work for a digital scrapbooking company and have loved designing my own posters and cards. My dream job is to be the next Stacey London on TLC's What Not to Wear. I love to play soccer and volleyball. I don't love cooking but I love to bake, especially cupcakes. My husband and I love good food and finding the best restaurants wherever we go.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born to parents who were Mormons and was raised a Mormon and I continue to be a Mormon because of the peace and direction that I receive from belonging to this church. I know that the Book of Mormon is a true book that has been translated by the prophet Joseph Smith. I know that when I read the Book of Mormon I feel peace and I receive answers to my prayers. I know that by following the Word of Wisdom I feel more in control of my body and am more healthy because of it. I know that the gospel is true and that I am a better person because of my faith. I feel confident in my marriage and the future of my family because of the role my faith plays in my life. I am a Mormon because I truly believe that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the one true church on this earth. The people may not be perfect, but the gospel is.

How I live my faith

My husband and I just moved into the area and are still getting to know our ward but were just called to be ward missionaries. Our goal is to help encourage people who have been baptized but are not coming to church to come back and enjoy the blessings of regular attendance. We want to make our ward family stronger and be better member missionaries. So far it has been an enjoyable calling where I get to work with my husband which is always nice. I also have a calling as a visiting teacher with another young girl in our ward. We visit three women in the ward and come with a short message and try to serve and help these women in any way they need.
