Hi I'm Jeshua

I'm from Maine. I'm married with 2 young children. I'm a tax accountant, and I'm a Mormon

About Me

I have a 2 year old with a second child on the way. I just started a new job at an accounting firm, and my wife stays home with our daughter. I love to play basketball, read, and spend time on the beach. I lived in Southern Mexico for two years, and had a great time meeting wonderful people down there. I speak Spanish, though it's getting rusty since I don't speak it enough. My free time is mostly spent hanging out with my little family, whether that's grocery shopping, going to the park, jumping on the bed, or eating ice cream.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I know it is what God wants me to do. The commandments he gives have filled my life with happiness and serve as guideposts for my future. I was raised by parents who were also Mormons, and have continued with my family because I feel the love of God and Jesus Christ as I try my best to follow their example. I see a lot of sad and discouraged people in the world, and know that a lot of their sorrow could be replaced with joy if they understood how much their Heavenly Father loves them and wants to bless them. All the best things in my life have come through being a Mormon. I learned Spanish and made great friends while serving a church mission in Mexico. I received a wonderful education at Brigham Young University, a school owned by the church. That education got me the great job I am fortunate to have. Most importantly, I met my wonderful wife at a bible study class for young single adults. I am a Mormon because I know it's the best way to find lasting happiness for me and my family.

How I live my faith

In my family, living my faith starts at home. We try to pray together before we leave the house in the morning and before bed at night. We read the scriptures together when we can, but I mostly read individually when my wife and daughter are in bed (the only quiet time of day). Every Sunday we go to church as a family and learn more about our Savior, Jesus Christ and how we can be more like him. Outside of church, I visit a few families every month to check on how they are doing and to share a short Gospel message that I hope will bring more happiness into their home. The adult men of the congregation are organized in a group with volunteer leadership. I serve as a secretary, taking notes at meetings and helping with administration. I try to be a good person everyday. I try to be kind to others, looking for ways to serve them or even just bring a smile to their face. I love to see others laugh.
