Hi I'm Jackson Pingree

I grew up in Utah, I'm an average kid who like sports, music, friends, and my family. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm 20 and loving life. I love to play basketball, tennis, soccer, football, ultimate frisbee. You name it and I'll play it. That is also true with music. I sing, played the recorder (who hasn't?), cello, trombone, french horn, piano and trumpet. These include being in an orchestra, jazz band, wind symphony, choirs, and even musicals. I love to talk with people, enjoy playing video games, board games, and even night games. There are few people I can't relate with or enjoy doing something they do. I consider myself to be a "jack-of-all-trades" and not only cause Jack is in my name. I also find school to be enjoyable, I love to learn about math, science, and even history. Anything I can learn to make it easier to relate to people. I find it hard when someone doesn't appreciate something I love, so I try to appreciate something about everyone and what they find most enjoyable in life.

Why I am a Mormon

Back when I was a kid it was simply because my family was Mormon. The older I got the more I realized that I needed to know for myself whether it was true or not. Being a Mormon isn't just a once a week at church lifestyle. Being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints needs to be who we are. So one day I decided I would find out. It started out by reading the Book of Mormon. So I read all 531 pages, and took the challenge within its pages to pray sincerely to God and see if he'd answer me. I got on my knees, asked God if this was the right thing for me, and waited. Almost instantly I was overcome by an overwhelming feeling of calmness and peace. This was my answer from God. Ever since that day and almost every day I can see the hand God plays in my life and am affirmed as to the truthfulness of this church. I know that God and Jesus Christ live. I know that they both love me, and you more than we can ever know. I know that through Christ and His Atonement I can be forgiven of every big or little mistake I make. This knowledge helps keep me always looking up, and positive, and I know that I have great things ahead of me.

How I live my faith

My belief comes out in everything I do. Sometimes I play the piano for meetings, sometimes I teach youth younger than me, or even clean the bathrooms. I will go around once a month to a couple homes in my community offering to do service, including snow shoveling during winter months, and just everything I can to make those people's lives better.

How can we come to know our Father in Heaven?

Jackson Pingree
How do you become friends with people in this life? Wouldn't you say that you simply go up to someone and talk to them to begin a relationship and eventually come to know them and become their friend? Well the same goes for God or our Heavenly Father. Walk up to him can be compared to getting on your knees, and talking is as simple as saying a prayer. You can know He's there by how you feel when you talk to Him. It doesn't have to be long, complicated, or eloquent for God to hear you. Simply be sincere, and I promise you that you can get to know Him personally, just like I have. Show more Show less

What do Mormons believe concerning the doctrine of grace?

Jackson Pingree
Grace is everything to us. We couldn't make it back to God, or our Father in Heaven, without it. Now its not quite as simple as saying you believe, living however you want, and God will simply save you. It takes a little effort. We believe that "by grace we are saved after ALL we can do." God knows we are going to mess up, but as long as we give it our absolute best, He'll make up the difference, and we can eventually make it back to live with Him again in paradise, or heaven.
