Hi I'm Hayden

I am from Ramah, NM but, with my wife Cheryl, raised our 8 children in Pocatello, ID.

About Me

I am a wildlife artist by profession but earlier in life I worked for the forest service. I later went to work for Boy Scouts and was working there when I got married. I am the father of eight children (4 boys and 4 girls).

Why I am a Mormon

Though I don't have all the answers, the gospel of our savior as taught by the LDS church provided me more answers than I could find any other way. It provides me a vision of my family being a "forever" family and teaches me what I need to do to make it so. I am a Mormon because I have a testimony of living prophets and a church patterned after the original church that the Savior organized through his apostles while he was her. The Holy Spirit has testified to me that it is true.

How I live my faith

As a member of the Church of Jesus Christ if Latter Day Saints, I have been active in my faith all of my life. It was the teachings of the Savior's gospel that we used as a foundation to teach and raise our children. My wife and I have servied in various positions in the church all of our married lives, sometimes with the children, sometimes with the youth and sometimes with the adults. our goal has been to warent the title "Christian".

Why don’t Mormons drink coffee, tea, or alcohol? What is the Mormon Church’s law of health and proper diet?

As a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Later Day Saints, the teachings of our church warn us against the use of harmful, habit forming substances such as tobacco, alcohol, coffee and illegal drugs. As I have watched friends and associates deal with the effects of some of these things in their lives I am so grateful that they have not been a part of mine. I have tried all my life to comply with this direction from a loving Heavenly Father and have enjoyed the blessings of a strong and health body. I feel this "word of wisdom" on how to treat our bodies has been a big factor in that. Show more Show less

What do Mormons believe is the purpose of life?

My wife and I have the same beliefs concerning the purpose of life and what it is that we are to accomplish in this short mortality (earth-life). We know that this earth was created as a place for us to come and receive physical bodies and have the opportunity to create a family of our own. We grew in knowledge and understand of right and wrong long before we came to earth and had opportunities to make right and wrong choices. Knowing a little about where we came from before we came to earth and why we came here has determined our actions and goals and channeled our energies while we are here. It governs all that we seek to accomplish and be as a person and as a family. I love what I know. Show more Show less
