Hi I'm Tauni

I am a wife, mother, teacher, care giver, volunteer, precinct committeemen, and I am a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Tauni Orton and I have lived in 26 different homes in 6 different states. Everywhere I have been I have met the most amazing people and I have friends all over the country. I am a wife to a loving husband and am the mother of four beautiful children. I love teaching truth, anything lovely and praisworthy. I recently went back to school after several years of raising young children, and graduated with a degree in history. I substitute teach, volunteer in my children's schools teaching music and art masterpiece, serve in the Boy Scouts of America, and am a Precinct Committeewoman in my Legislative District. My favorite time is spent with my family even when it is time to move (can you say CHAOS)!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints because I have studied and prayed, and I know this is Jesus Christ' restored church from when He established it when He lived here on the earth. When I have moved, I find a new congregation to go to with the same teachings, doctrines and principles, and using the same lesson manuals from my last concregation. I also know that I will be able to serve my fellow men and make friends in each new congregation I live in because the people in the mormon culture offer a community of fellowship and love. Each new congregation I have lived in has members of the church found in the geographical area in which I live. We have been able to support one another through trials and triumphs. These congregations are called wards and these ward members have become my family. They have helped me through tough times, especially when I haven't lived near my family. I have felt the Holy Spirit testify to me that this church, and work, is true even though the members are imperfect and come unto Christ with spiritual dis-ease (that is why the congregations are called wards...it is a hospital for the spiritually sick). I seek for truth and all of the gospel principles found through the Bible are found in this church; just like all the pieces of the puzzle put together can make a beautiful picture. This picture of the gospel of Jesus Christ helps me to live an abundant, balanced, and joyful life.

How I live my faith

I believe the gospel of Jesus Christ is all about living true and correct principles and serving God's children. As I correctly prioritize my life with my relationship with God as my highest priority, then my family relationships. and finally, service to my society and country, I am able to live my faith. I also believe that the most basic unit of society is the family. As I serve my husband and children, I know I am helping to build a good foundation for my society and country. I strive to live my faith by seeking the truth and sharing it with others; whether I am teaching my children how to work, serve, respect and love others, substitute teaching, helping to educate the school children about music and art, playing with my children and their friends on the school playground, helping Boy Scouts advance, serving my friends and neighbors, or helping voters learn about the candidates that most closely align themselves with the principles found in the Consititution of the United States of America.
