Hi I'm Giana Miller

I live in Waynesboro, VA ; married to Richards M Miller; mother of 5 married, 17 Grandkids, Director of Legos for Leukemia VA/UVA

About Me

I'm a Mormon and have been a member of the Mormon Church since my baptism at the age of 8 (1956). I received my degree in Elementary Education at Brigham Young University where I met my wonderful husband, Richards M Miller. I taught only a few years as I felt my role in life was to be a great wife and Mother, terrific Gigi and to serve my fellow man. I have worked with the youth in the Church, Public Affairs & currently my husband and I are the Stake Directors for the Mid Single Adults (28-45) in the Waynesboro Stake, VA. Our Goal is to help every Single Adult in this age group to have a place of belonging and feel the love of the Savior. All five of our children are married living in VA, CO & UT. We rejoice in our children and grandchildren who bring us great joy and happiness. We have experienced trials along the way. Through our faith and knowledge of a Loving Savior and our knowledge of eternal families, we have been able to get through our trials & increase our Faith at the same time. We had a grandson born with extreme abnormalities and lived a very short time and a brother born several years later with two disabilities who is miraculously advancing beyond expectations. Another Grandson followed 3 Months later diagnosed with AML Leukemia at age 10. Our Dane is in remission and we thank a loving Heavenly Father for answering our prayers. I am currently Director of Bricks for Leukemia Va UVA Children's Hospital. Our goal is to deliver LEGO's to children with cancer.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into The Church of jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I am a Mormon because I believe in the Prophet Joseph Smith receiving personal revelation to restore the true church to the Earth. This Church is set up exactly as it was at the time of Christ with a Prophet, counselors and the 12 Apostles. Knowing there is a living Prophet on the earth today brings such peace and solace. I believe God and His son Jesus Christ are two separate beings; I believe families can be eternal families ; I believe when 8 years old or older, one is accountable to be baptized by immersion by one who holds the authority. I believe in repentance & forgiveness. I believe in the power of prayer and blessings given to a sick person by one with Priesthood Authority. Most important, I believe the name of the Church should have Jesus Christ's Name in it and have those with the Priesthood hold leadership positions within the Church. I also believe in peace that comes to us as we know we will pass from this earth to a place in Heaven called, Paradise, and will be reunited with loved ones and on Resurrection Day, we will be with our eternal families. Most importantly, I know God and HIs Son love me. I am a Mormon today as I believe in all the Principles of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

How I live my faith

Each day, I pray to my Heavenly Father that He might lead me to help someone in need. It can be family, friends or a complete stranger. I have learned to tell myself that each person on this earth is a Child of God and not to judge them but serve them. I believe in following the commandments, making decions around, "What would Christ do!" I try to live the principles of Faith, Hope & Charity as a montra each day & not be afraid to share Christ's teachings.

What is the Relief Society?

Giana Miller
The Relief Society is the oldest and largest women's organization in the world. Relief Society was established in 1842 for women 18 years of age and older. Its purpose is to build faith and personal righteousness, strengthen families and homes, and help those in need. It's a place where women feel accepted and loved and learn and grow. We also are visiting teachers within this organization and assigned to women to visit each month with a lesson and to help in any way that might be needed. Great blessings come from the Sisterhood and Service. Show more Show less
