Hi I'm Melody Rowley

I grew up in Mesa AZ. My husband and I have 6 children. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I come from a family of 7 children and I'm the youngest. Growing up I felt a lot of love in my family! Some of the things I liked to do was gymnastics and my favorite thing to do was sports! I played a lot of church baseball and volleyball. I also played soccer and participated in track events in school and was on the track team in high school which I thoroughly enjoyed! After graduating from high school I worked for a bank. I soon met my future husband. We dated for while and eventually were married in the AZ temple. We now have 6 almost adult children that I thoroughly enjoyed raising! I've always loved little children and now we get to enjoy them as adults. I feel like I've gained six best friends! And our family just keeps growing now that three of our children are married. Some of my hobbies throughout our married life have been taking pictures and scrap booking and decorating. I have thoroughly loved being a wife and a mother! I wouldn't trade it for anything in the world!.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in the Mormon faith. I feel like my testimony started to grow when I was a little girl. I used to have night mares when I was little after being a sleep for a bit where I would run through the house screaming...I would hear my mother call my father to come give me a blessing. I would feel my fathers hands on my head and as soon as he would start giving me a blessing I would feel a complete peace...I am so thankful to have had the priesthood in our home and for those sweet experiences to have felt the power of the priesthood at such a young age. My testimony continued to grow as I got older but as an adult I had never read the book of Mormon all the way through and felt it was something I needed to do. At the end of the book of Mormon Moroni gives a challenge to the reader to pray to find out if it is true. I took his challenge where I didn't immediately get my confirmation. It actually didn't come until 8 months later when I was sitting in a church sacrament meeting...the spirit bore witness to me that the book of Mormon IS TRUE! I am so thankful for my testimony! I hold it very dear to my heart. I'm so thankful for my membership in this church. I'm so thankful for Jesus Christ that he loved us enough to die for us and for all of our sins. When I'm going through trials like all of us do I'm able to find peace as I turn to the scriptures and prayer. Again I'm so thankful for this gospel in my life!

How I live my faith

I've always had a calling in my ward. I've worked a lot with the little children where I teach a lesson to a group of about 5 or 6 of them. I thoroughly enjoy working with these sweet little children! I"ve also had the chance to work with young teen girls. At one time two of them being my daughters! There again as with the little children I would teach them once a week and also meet during the week for an activity. Some of the activities would be a service project or just simply playing a game or making a dessert etc! Another calling I've loved was working in the nursery once a week on Sundays. My husband and I were asked to work together in this calling. Our 2 year old daughter was in the nursery at this time. So that was an extra bonus! Now all these small children have all grown to be almost 18 years old! It was fun to work with them when they were young and then get to watch them grow up! I have thoroughly enjoyed being a part of our church!
