Hi I'm Tim

I live in the beautiful Pacific Northwest. I have had many trials that have tried my faith, but I will always trust in Christ

About Me

I am a happy and handy kind of guy. I was born to L.D.S. parents and raised in the gospel. At 18, I made choices that led me away from the church for 11 years. Because of patient members and a bold bishop, I tried church again. Upon coming back, I felt the familiar Spirit of God so strongly that I knew this is where I needed to be. Through my "mountain" of trials, I have gained a strong testimony of the love that our Heavenly Father and Savior has for each of us. Because of this love, He hears our prayers and answers them -- in his own way and his own time. One of my hardest trials gave me the greatest blessing. My first marriage came to an abrupt end, devastating me and my children. Though much fasting, pleading, praying and learning to trust Him, my life began to change. I turned my will over to my Heavenly Father. Shortly after, I met an amazing woman. I believe that because I was willing to humble myself quickly, He led me to a sweet and precious woman, who I married. The trials don't stop, but they can be conquered. Heavenly Father knows and loves each and everyone of us. He knows what experiences are needed to help us to become more like Him. He has provided a way to return to Him—a Savior that atoned for our sins and conquered death. What we must do is to repent, trust Him and listen to the still, small voice of his Holy Spirit. As we do, our eyes of understanding will open.

Why I am a Mormon

I know in my heart that this is the true church of Jesus Christ. Though the teachings of the gospel, I feel very close to my Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. I know Heavenly Father answers prayers and gives his children personal revelation. I know that Heavenly Father lives. I know that the Savior, Jesus Christ lives. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the only complete, the only true church on this earth. It's not that I think other churches are completely wrong, they just don't have the complete gospel truths and authority of Jesus Christ. I know this because the Holy Spirit has confirmed it to me. This is why I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints ... a "Mormon".

How I live my faith

Service is a great teacher and a way to show your love for the Savior. I have served as a scoutmaster, leader for the young men, Sunday school teacher and other leadership roles. I have always felt closer the my Father In Heaven and the Savior while serving those in my stewardship. Working with the youth was by far my most enjoyable service. They are full of energy and are spiritually more mature. No wonder they are on this earth at this time of much turmoil. I have hope in the future because of the faith of these youth. I enjoy going to church each Sunday and feeling the spirit. Its like getting my spiritual batteries recharged. If I skip even one Sunday, I find that my life is missing something and I can't wait to return. I have been given 3 families that I home-teach with my companion. I feel a great responsibility to them as we visit them in their homes once a month and become friends to them; looking for ways to serve them. Once a week, we have a time set apart to have Family Home Evening. This where we build our relationships within our family, learn about our Savior and have fun. I enjoy sharing the truths of the gospel. I often find myself in casual conversations about the gospel with co-workers. When I share, I get a feeling of peace, excitement and joy all at the same time. Living the Gospel of Jesus Christ is not always the easiest; but is is ALWAYS WORTH IT. Even in difficult times, I know my Father in Heaven and Savior Jesus Christ love me. They want me to grow and succeed and return to live with them. The teachings of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints have taught me to have faith and hope in the Redeemer, Jesus Christ. As I repent and endure all that is placed before me, one day, I will be able to see my Heavenly Father feel his embrace again. One might ask: "Going through terrible trials in order to live by His teachings, is it worth it?" Yes, it's worth this and more to live with Him once again!
