Hi I'm Alex Giles

I'm nineteen years old and putting my education on hold to serve a mission in Milan Italy. I'm A Mormon

About Me

I love hanging out with my friends and family and just being surrounded by good people. I taught myself how to play the guitar. Not very good at it, but i enjoy it! I love all sports, but basketball is my favorite (to watch and to play). I like to try and learn something everyday, and now since i'm going to college (BYU) I'm going to enjoy every minute of it. Overall I just like to relax, enjoy the moment I'm in, and live my life with purpose.

Why I am a Mormon

I've grown up in the gospel. It's been hard to get my own testimony of this gospel, since when i was younger i grew up on my parents. But as I went to high school, I followed my standards and learned my life is much simpler and more importantly, much happier. When I'm living this gospel I actually can feel myself become happier. The day's I don't follow the commandments I feel more down. This is how my testimony started, realizing this in small little steps. I feel like you don't need a huge conversion story to know this is the true church. That feeling I get when I am obedient to what the Lord commanded of me and when I'm living in harmony with the gospel, I know that this is the true church. I want to be able to share this to all people. I know this church is true and Jesus Christ atoned for our sins so we can return to God. Without a doubt in my mind, heart and soul that I am where I need to be. Here in this gospel. That is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

Right now, I decided to serve a full time mission (2 years). I got called to serve in Milan, Italy. I am excited to go and can not wait to be able to serve the people in Italy I will be there in less than a month!! Every month I get to go home teach with my dad in my home ward. It's a great experience to be able to server your neighbors. It brings your closer together as families and as a community. Since I'm younger, I've never had a specific calling to teach, or be a great leader. But I know I have a calling right now of God to serve as a missionary. And that's what I am going to go do.
