Hi I'm Matt

Im from Washington, Im serving a mission in Cabo Verde, I love the Book of Mormon. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Throughout high school and middle school I did a lot of wrestling. That was a lot of fun and it taught me many important principles in life about hard work and endurance. I love to camp, play basketball, ultimate Frisbee, bowling (personal high of 233) and basically any active exercise . I'm teaching myself to play piano and I love it. I enjoy spending time with my family and coming closer to them.

Why I am a Mormon

For a good portion of my youth (until age 16), I had attended church and participated in church activites simply because I "had to". One day I was asked the question " Do you believe that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is true?". Never really asking myself this question, I had to say "no". I was then told that I could find out for myself. Through sincere prayer and coming before the Lord to want to know the Church, I asked for myself to know that the Book of Mormon to be the word of God and to know that this was a real and true church. After a short period of time, I recieved a personal witness of the truthfulness of this gospel by the overwhelming feelings of the Holy Ghost that brought me to tears and testified to me that truthfulness of what I had sought. My answer was undeniably clear, and I could never deny it. I know that the Fulness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ was restored by the Prophet Joseph Smith. This message is one that will change every single life that is willing to hear it words for the better. This message allows anyone to overcome the trials of life and have eternal happiness. No one ever forced me to believe in this church, I had to find out for myself. I suggest that if you don't know this is true to read the Book of Mormon and ask for yourself.

How I live my faith

In my ward over the course of 6 years I was a leader for youth age group 12-13, 14-15, and 16-18. These roles helped me to learn how to be a better friend and leader. For activities we would often times perform service for a member, non-member, or organization around the community. This helped me to realize how essential service to others and how it can leave a large influence. I live my faith by having served a mission for 2 years. For some this may seem like a long time, but with all sincerity, it is the literally the least thing I could do. The gospel has blessed my life with more peace and happiness than I could ever receive from any other place. Jesus Christ payed the infinite debt for me and my sins, now I have the opportunity to pay a very small portion back by serving the Lord with all my heart, might, mind and strength.

Why do Mormon missionaries proselyte?

The reason that I share the gospel of Jesus Christ is because I know that it is 100% true and I want the entire world to know that. This gospel has brought unspeakable happiness, knowledge, joy and has helped me to be a better person. If I had this knowledge it would be incredibly selfish not to share it. I want everyone in the world to feel the happiness that I feel, that doesn't end after the day is over or after a good time, but lasts literally forever. Show more Show less
