Hi I'm Kelly

I grew up in on a farm in Nebraska. Now I'm in my third year of pharmacy school. I'm a Mormom

About Me

I'm finishing up pharmacy school right now, so I spend s plethora of time at the library and at work as a pharmacy intern. When I finally graduate, I might avoid college libraries for a very long time to avoid continued nightmares of endless exams. When I'm not busy with school and work, I love to run. I ran my first full marathon last summer! I played volleyball in high school and college and love to cheer on the Nebraska Cornhuskers. I've spent the last two summers in Utah and am forever in love with the mountains and all of the gorgeous hiking and running trails. I love, love, love reading and good grammar and cinnamon toast crunch and tulips and ice cream and bundling up in the winter.

Why I am a Mormon

My best friend in pharmacy school is a Mormon. Before meeting him, I knew nothing of the church. I honestly wasn't searching for anything or interested at all in changing religions. I told my friend I wanted to read the Book of Mormon after he had shared a bit about his mission one night. I started reading out of curiosity's sake. Long story short, I couldn't stop. My curiosity turned into belief. I prayed constantly and desperately for Heavenly Father to show me truth and to give me the strength to act on it. And my prayers were all answered. I was baptized exactly one year ago today, and I've never once regretted it. I could never leave. God could never stop loving each and every one of us because it’s simply against His nature, and I feel so strongly now that denying the truth of this gospel would be against my nature. I need it and I love it and it’s changed my life. It’s made the past year easily the most challenging but also the most blessed year of my life. It’s brought so much joy and strength in and through trials. It’s taught me humility – over and over again. I know the church is true, without a doubt. I know that prayers are answered, and I know that sometimes we are asked to make tough, seemingly impossible decisions, but if we place our trust in God, we will never ever be left alone, and we will not fail.

How I live my faith

I wake up every morning and read from the Scriptures and pray to my Heavenly Father. I do the same thing before falling asleep each night. My faith is rooted in those things and in knowing that God knows me perfectly and loves me so, so much. Reading and praying enable me to live my faith and to be happy each and every day. Sunday is easily my favorite day of the week. It's what gets me through endless hours at the library and at work. I listen to Christian music on my runs and love to listen to talks from church leaders when I need a boost during study breaks. I I love visiting members of the community with the missionaries and learning and teaching with them.

Are Mormons Christians?

Absolutely, yes. I was blessed to have a relationship with Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ through the beauty of Catholicism first, and I am a convert because the Mormon Church helped me to know them on a deeper and more personal level. I love Jesus Christ. He's the rock of my faith and of this church. Show more Show less
