Hi I'm Shauna

I am a avid Birdwatcher, love taking pictures, traveled the world and a Grandmother to 13 grandchildren. I'm a Mormon!

About Me

While recovering from some surgery 7 years ago, laying in bed I became curious about the birds that were in the tree outside my window. I mentioned this to my husband and an hour later, he came back with a pair of binoculars and 2 bird books. My love for birdwatching was born. We have traveled many places in the world and I will always find information on the birds in that country, so I am familiar with birds of that region. Being in nature is so peaceful and beautiful. My husband is a great nature photgrapher, so it a great hobby for both of us to share.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised a Mormon. But it wasn't until I was much older did I really gain a testimony of our Heavenly Father and his Son. At times I wonder why we have to wait so long to finally "get it". I was adpoted when I was a baby by wonderful parents who were waiting to have their eternal family. My Mother was raised in the church and Dad was a convert. All of their children where sealed to them in their own special temple, mine was the Oakland CA Temple. I attended church, camps, seminary, family scripture study and the daughter of a Bishop. But as I grew older, I grew further and further from the gospel. After years of " not getting it " I moved to the south and know that The Lord had sent me there. In a years time a new job for both myself and husband, new home and most important the missionaries started coming to our home. These men helped me find the truth again and I found my testimony.

How I live my faith

At times we all find that living the way our Savior has asked us to can be difficult. But I know that making the right choices will only make our lives more complete. In the middle of the Pacific Ocean I found myself thinking I could " let my hair down" no one knows me. But I realized someone is always watching. Little did I know on the same ship was someone that knew my daughter in law and she had been watching me, wanting to approach me at the right moment. Making the right choices and living the way I should is the best way for me to live my faith.
