Hi I'm Jeremiah

I enjoy reading books, playing sports, building with Lego's and riding motorcycles. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the third of four boys. I was born and raised in North Central Maryland and spent many years playing soccer and basketball, and running track. I absolutely love building and collecting Lego's, in particular the Star Wars and Architecture sets. I attended the University of Delaware and graduated with a Bachelor's in Civil Engineering. I was working as an Engineering Technician, but I am currently serving a mission in the Colorado, Colorado Springs Mission, spanish speaking.

Why I am a Mormon

The easy answer as why I am a Mormon would be to say that I am a Mormon because my parents are both Mormons. To a certain extent that is very much true. I was raised in a loving home where the only screaming and yelling was that of four boys playing and wrestling. The true Gospel of Jesus Christ has always brought such a great peace to our home and my parents have always been the greatest example of how I want to be when I have my own family. All of that said, I have come to know for myself that this church is true. Through thoughts and feelings, I know that my Heavenly Father has created a plan that allows me to be happy here on Earth and then provides a way for me to live forever with my family. I know that Jesus Christ is my savior and that his atonement is for me. I am forever grateful to my parents for their ongoing example of righteousness. I am grateful for my membership in this church and the guidance and understanding that the Gospel and Book of Mormon have brought to my life.

How I live my faith

I have spent the last two years serving in various roles within the local Mormon congregations. These roles include being in charge of planning, organizing, and supervising activities for the young single adults (ages 18-30) for both spiritual and social events, coaching the boys' youth basketball team, and teaching Sunday School to the 14-15 year old boys and girls. On November 11, 2013 I received a mission call to serve in the Colorado, Colorado Springs Mission speaking Spanish. I enter the Missionary Training Center in Mexico on February 12, 2014 to begin my formal training and preparation. However, my training and preparation began long before now in serving others. My involvement with the young singles has not only provided me the opportunity to make great friends and have a lot of fun, but also the opportunity to learn and to serve and to begin to understand what it means to love one another. It has taught me so much about myself, but also shown me so much that I can continue to work on. I know that as I continue in the service of my fellow man my life will only get better and I am extremely excited about the opportunity I have to serve a mission.

Are Mormons Christians?

The actual name of our Church is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. There are 13 Articles of Faith written by Joseph Smith, of which the first is "We believe in God, the Eternal Father, and in His Son, Jesus Christ, and in the Holy Ghost." Everything we are taught revolves around trying to make our lives as close to Jesus' life as we possibly can. We accept Him as our Savior and His atonement is our opportunity to return to live with Heavenly Father one day. Show more Show less
