Hi I'm Rulon

I grew up in Ohio. I love to play soccer. I'm serving the Lord in Las Vegas. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Rulon and I am a child of God. I hail from the great state of Ohio and I come from a family of 8 and I am the 3rd of 6 children. My family is awesome and they mean everything to me. I don't know what I would do without my parents and siblings. My past times include coloring, puddle-jumping, and yodeling. I have been trained in the ways of a Kungfu warrior. I love to be active by running and playing soccer (the best sport in the world) and basketball. However, sleeping and taking naps is also a necessity. I love seeing the world, so naturally, traveling is one of my favorite things to do! Some of the places that I have visited are London, England, Sao Paulo, Brasil, and several countries in Africa: Zambia, Zimbabwe, Botswana, Namibia, South Africa, and Kenya. I have a strong appreciation for God's beautiful creations because of the parts of the world that I have seen. I truly know that He created everything we have in this world. I've found that I am my happiest when I am able to be myself! I love getting to know new people and making people laugh and smile. I have found that the real joy in life is spending time with people and focusing on family and friends. I am currently serving a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Las Vegas, Nevada!! After my mission, I plan on attending Brigham Young University.

Why I am a Mormon

I am blessed to have been born into a family that is Mormon. This gave me the opportunity to be raised in this church and to learn the gospel from my parents and from leaders in my church. Growing up, I didn't know if The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints was true, but it felt right for me. I always loved feeling included when I went to church and even though I was little, I had a role and a place in the church. As I was a teenager I attended early morning seminary classes where I had the time to study the Bible, Book of Mormon and other books of scripture more closely. At this time, I began to develop a stronger understanding, knowledge, and testimony of the gospel. I came to know that being a Mormon or a latter-day saint is the right path for me in this life and I have seen the blessings of having and living my beliefs in my life. For whatever trial or problem that I have had in my life, the gospel always has an answer. The gospel has been a huge blessing in my life because I know my purpose in this life as well as where I will be going after this life. Following Jesus Christ gives my life purpose. I know that the Book of Mormon is the word of God and this book brings comfort and light into my life through the times of struggle that I have. I continue to live and follow the gospel of Christ so that I can one day raise my future children in His gospel.

How I live my faith

As a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, I live my faith by striving to be an example in everything I do. I try to look at every day as a new start and a chance to make today better than yesterday. As I have gotten older, I have gained a stronger appreciation for the blessings that my Heavenly Father has given me. Faith is a principle of action. So, I show my faith when I pray every morning and night to my Heavenly Father, I read the Bible and Book of Mormon everyday, and I attend church every Sunday. Right now, I am living my faith by serving a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Las Vegas, Nevada. I share my beliefs and my love for Jesus Christ and his gospel with people I meet everyday. Everyday my testimony of this gospel increases and I have been able to recognize the power of it in my life as well as in the lives of others. Faith begins the process of change in our lives. As a missionary, I invite everyone I meet to come closer to Jesus Christ. We can come closer to Christ as we show our faith in him by reading the scriptures, praying, and attending church. These three simple, but powerful things can bring peace and happiness into the lives of everyone. I always strive to live my testimony and to be true to what I believe even when it is not the most popular thing to do.
