Hi I'm Jodee

I'm from Idaho. I'm a lifeguard and a college student. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I just finished my first year of college at Utah Valley University and I absolutely loved it! I love the school work and I loved the people. It was a great experience! I am now preparing to serve a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in San Antonio, Texas for 18 months! I am beyond excited for this opportunity! There are seven kids in my family, and I am number six. I've had a lot of good examples to look up to all my life with all my siblings and my parents, and I am so grateful for that. I am a lifeguard and swimming lesson teacher, I love to sing in choirs, I enjoy most sports and I love camping! My favorite pastime is spending quality time with my family. I love the Lord and I am happy that I have an opportunity to serve Him and his children.

Why I am a Mormon

I can't express how dearly I love the gospel of Jesus Christ. I credit every blessing that I have to its presence in my life. It brings me such great and full joy in all I do. I've been taught the Gospel all my life. My parents always made sure prayer and scripture study were daily parts of our lives, and we never missed a week of church that I can remember. They were strong in their faith and such good examples. But when I moved away to college, I was out on my own and suddenly, there was no one telling me to get up for church on Sundays, to ask if I was studying my scriptures, to monitor what I wore, what I said, where I went, when I got home. I was in a brand new city where no one knew me and I could be anyone that I wanted to be. I could do anything that I wanted to! I no longer had anyone to rely on but myself, and that scared me. Only my own faith mattered now. And either I believed in the Gospel 100%, or it wasn't true and not worth my time. I prayed and I studied the scriptures, and did so with all the sincerity that I had in my heart. I needed to know. I found the most beautiful truth that I have ever known. God lives. Jesus Christ lives and he has felt every pain and sorrow that you or I have ever endured. Thanks to Him, we can return to our God our Father. The Book of Mormon is God's word, I know that. God is not silent. He loves us like he loved his children in the days of the scriptures, and that is why we have a living prophet. I know this is Christ's church.

How I live my faith

I am so excited to be a missionary for Jesus Christ and help others to come to know Him. I did not always plan on serving a mission, but I have come to feel very strongly that this is exactly what the Lord wants me to be doing right now. All of God's children are precious, and I feel so blessed to have the chance to help them learn how very precious they truly are to Him. I will dedicate the next year and a half of my life to serving and loving God's children in Texas, because I know there are people there who are prepared and ready to receive the truth and find true happiness in Christ. I strive to learn daily about the Lord and strengthen my relationship with Him through studying the scriptures and praying. I know that God lives and that He loves us all.
