Hi I'm Rick

I grew up in the Galveston, Houston area, I am a man of many talents, but I am an electrition at heart. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a outgoing Hispanic male that loves to have a good time with family and friends. I love to participate in sport activities, listen to music, read, and socialize with friends and family. I am a single father of a beautiful young woman. My past wasen't very colorful, throughout my childhood I was surrounded by drugs and introduced into a life of trafficing and distributing narcotics. At a young age I also became a user. These things made me lose what meant the most to me in life, mainly my daughter. This lifestyle brought with it several altercations with law enforcement that I probably could have avoided if I had chosen the right path at the start of my life. In general I was a negative person, filled with hate and anger, I was lost.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because all other religions I investigated I had found faults in and did not recieve anything from their teachings. One day while I was reading my Bible, I asked the Lord my God to show the right path similar to Joseph Smith's story and within less then two minutes after my prayer two missionaries who usually drove but later I found out because of problems pertaining to their vehicle they were on bicylces that day. I stopped them and asked them to share their beliefs with me. Everything that I was looking for they were offering through their religion. All questions that I had could not find answers to they were in return able to finally settle my mind at last with answers that I was looking for. I tried to find fault in their religion as I found fault in many others but could not. On August 11th I was baptized into the faith and with this faith I was able to overcome a hardened heart, drug addiction, and a bad life style. With these changes I am able to be sure a hundred percent that this is the faith for me. Through the atonement of Jesus Christ and recieving the Holy Ghost and this faith anyone can change for the better. I stand by the Word of Wisdom and the Commandments of my Father in Heaven and practice each day living by these standards that I may become more like my Savior Jesus Christ. I love being a Mormon the love I recieve throughout the church and its members is unimaginable. It is something trully undescribable. This is why I'm a Mormon.

How I live my faith

Through my change I am now an instrument of God that uses the knowledge that the Gospel of Jesus Christ has given me to try to make differences in other peoples lives that have different and similar backgrounds as mine. I am currently visiting investigating and less active families with the missionaries, to help them realize they can recieve the blessings and changes as I did. I also try to help my family members realize and understand the words of the Book of Mormon and the strong impact that it can have on ones life. Them knowing what kind of person I was and how many religions I had been through, that with this faith you can change, and I am living proof of that change.
