Hi I'm Chris

I grew up on a farm near a small town in Southwest Wisconsin. I'm a student at BYU. I like to go rock climbing.

About Me

I did wrestling in high school and went to state competitions. I like doing outdoorsy things. Currently I'm a student at Brigham Young University. I'm studying Civil Engineering. I'm just about to finish school and am really excited to get into my field. I have a rather big family and I like being with them.

Why I am a Mormon

I've always sought for hope and wisdom in my life. God helps us to know what is right and what is wrong, what will bring us more peace and more happiness. From a young age I felt hope and peace when I listened to stories of the Bible and the Book of Mormon. I felt like God knew me and this helped me to feel hope and peace. I've read the Book of Mormon several times and I always feel the enlightening power of the Holy Ghost in my mind and my heart. I've learned alot from other members in the church about faith and diligence, prayer, and charity. Good people have inspired me to improve my life and make it more worth living. No others more than my parents. I love the hymns of the church especially. They make church more fun, and help me at other times when I feel low. One I really like is 'How Gentle God's Commands"; Why should this anxious load, press down your weary mind, Haste to your Heavenly Father's throne, and sweet refreshment find. I served a mission for the church, and I found that as I taught others about the Book of Mormon and a living Prophet, I saw their lives change for the better as mine has. I know that the Book of Mormon is the Word of God, just as the Bible is. It is another witness of Jesus Christ to us today. I know that the word of God helps us to know Him and his Son. It helps us to know who He is and what He's about. It helps us to know that we are all his children. This has helped me to have faith and hope for a better world. "Wherefore, whoso believeth in God, might with surety hope for a better world, yea, even a place at the right hand of God, which hope cometh of faith, maketh and anchor to the souls of men, which would make them sure and steadfast, always abounding in good works, being led to glorify God." -Ether 12:4 (The Book of Mormon)

How I live my faith

I've always enjoyed going to church, well, as an adult. When I was younger I would rather be at home. At school there are a lot of congregations with students in them. In my congregation I currently help out with visiting other students to check up on them. I visit them once a month for a few minutes to share a message from the Prophet. I mostly just listen in church meetings and think about how I can apply what is being said in my life. I like to sing in church. The hymns inspire me and touch my life.
