Hi I'm Elder Michael Chase Aylett

I am a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Virginia Richmond Mission

About Me

I am the youngest of ten kids in my family and have always look up to their examples. Many times in my life we would go camping or go hiking and as well as go dirt biking with my dad and my friends. When I was young I was always riding my bike, and so i love riding bikes, any bike i love to ride. When i was young it was the regular bike riding in the neighborhood, but it has turned from BMX biking, to Dirt Biking, and now to road biking and mountain biking. I love riding down the hills of the mountains and hillsides and having that experience. I plan on serving a mission November 2012 till 2014 and plan on returning, working, going to school, getting married, starting a family, enjoying and experiencing life.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon, because I love it! It brings the most joy to me in my life. As a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints you are given a gift, and that is the Holy Ghost, a constant companion that is able to comfort you, to warn you of the harms of the world, and to stay on the right path. (John 14:16-27) I always know that the Holy Ghost is with me as I keep the commandments of Our Savior. Jesus Christ came here on this earth, and taught, preformed miracles, and called twelve apostles. Jesus Christ taught principles to his disciples, as well as the people, and formed His church. These principles were like, prayer, fasting, enduring to the end, tithing, temples, the word of wisdom, and much more. But Our Savior was crucified, and his disciples one by one were killed, but these principles were still throughout all of the land. One by one these principles started getting created by other church's who thought they had the full truth but only had partial truth. One church would be really strong in Prayer, Tithing, and the Word of Wisdom. Another church would be really strong in Fasting, Enduring to the End, and Temples, and more and more church's started they're partial truths of their beliefs but did not have the full truth. This took place for over fifteen hundred years until in the early 1800's there was a boy named Joseph Smith. He would attend different church's but noticed that there was contention between the different church's, and did not know which church was true. And then one day he was reading in the Bible, James and it said: "If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him." (James 1:5) After Joseph read this he knew that he must do exactly what that scripture said, and that was to 'Ask of God'

How I live my faith

When I turned twelve years of age I was given a calling to hold the Aaronic Priesthood, which is the ability to act in God's name. I then had many callings in this Priesthood that I was to use for the remainder of my life as a way to learn and experience. There are three classes you take when you are a young priesthood holder - Deacons Quorum, Teachers Quorum, and Priest Quorum. I held a calling in each of these quorums that placed responsibility on myself. At the age of 17 I served in the special needs program where we were assigned a special needs student for a year to spend time with for an hour and a half every Thursday night, and we had many fun activities like Geocaching, Halloween costume party, dancing parties every month, and a special needs idol. As I reached the age of eighteen I was given a higher priesthood, which is called the Melchizedek Priesthood. I receive my Endowment in the Temple which Endowment means gift. I receive my called to serve a Mission and will be serving November 2012, till 2014, where I will be bringing the world its truth, and serving the Lord. I plan on having a family in the future, where I will have a calling in my home to sustain my family, and love them at all costs, and this is my blessing that will be blessed to me, so that if I to follow the prophets example and their teachings I may live with my family forever, as well as Our Savior.
