Hi I'm Jeff!

I grew up in Missouri.I am a brother to 6. I am a tennis player and a full time missionary. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently serving a full time mission in Fort Worth, Texas and am loving it!

Why I am a Mormon

I'll admit, at one point in my life, I was a blind follower. I didn't know the church was true. I went because the rest of my family did; because I was told to. It wasn't until I had a desire to know of the truth that the truth came to me. Without that desire, there was no faith. With that desire, I put my faith in Jesus Christ. It was through the process of putting my trust in him, repenting of sins, and keeping his commandments that I gained a testimony of the truthfulness of the gospel. Why am I a Mormon? Because the church is true, and it has brought so much peace, comfort, and joy into my life.

How I live my faith

As a mission leader for my Young Single Adult Branch, I had the opportunity to help teach with the full-time missionaries. I prepared baptisms and had weekly meetings. Now I am able give back the knowledge that I have gained to others and help them come closer to Christ as a full time missionary. I have had all kinds of responsibilities in the church, but if I'm not loving to my fellow men, then it all goes to waste. The least and the most that I can do to show love to my Heavenly Father is to treat others with the same loving kindness that He shows towards us.

Why do Mormons perform proxy baptisms in their temples?

Jeff!
First of all, we are taught that baptism is an essential ordinance for salvation. There are those on the earth that did not get the opportunity to be baptized, or that were baptized but not by the proper authority of the priesthood. By doing proxy baptisms for the dead we are offering those who have passed on to accept or deny the ordinance that was done on their behalf. We are giving them the same opportunity that we have to take the steps to be glorified and return to live with our Heavenly Father. Show more Show less
