Hi I'm David Strasser

I'm a father of four. I love fishing, hunting, and hiking in the Northwest. I work as a sales engineer. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have three daughters and one son with the oldest 8 years old. I come from a large family with eight children. My parents taught us to work, to study, and to believe in God. Now I'm trying to pass those values on to my children. I work hard and give service in the church. But I also take time to do things with my children, to fish, hunt, and camp. We are very blessed to live in Oregon and take advantage of our beautiful state.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I know that what our Church teaches is true. I've received answers to my prayers and direction from God in my life for which I am very grateful. I've also felt the power of evil in my life as we all do at times. I'm thankful to know that God loves each of us and that his influence can guide us all. There are many good Christian religions that teach true principals and that should be working together. But they are not taking full advantage of the many testimonies we've been given of Jesus Christ and limit themselves to the Bible alone. God has carried out his ministry among many more than just one people and he carries it out still today. I invite anyone who has a desire to know more about Jesus Christ, the purpose of this life, where we came from, where we are going, or why bad things happen in this life to talk with a Mormon friend.

How I live my faith

Its easy to compartmentalize one's life and separate religion, recreation, work, and family life from each other and at times I fall into that trap. But my faith helps me to attempt to bring those Christian principles into my daily life. There are times when the Lord has guided me in small decisions that have had large consequences down the road. I try to read or listen to a short religious message every day to remind myself to reach to be better and to be open to the influence of the Spirit. I also give service in the church. I help the missionaries and other church members share the gospel. I've worked for many years with the youth in Sunday school and in Boy Scouts and find teaching others about life and about our Savior very rewarding. And as we all know the best way to learn something is to share it with others (teach).
