Hi I'm Bev

I came from El Paso, Texas, grew up in a Lutheran and Methodist family. I am now Mormon.

About Me

I am a 64 year old female who moved to Alabama just recently, in January 2012 to be exact, to be with my daughter, son-in-law, and grandchildren. I live with them. My favorite hobbies are reading, getting to know the computer better, crossword puzzles books and variety puzzles. I enjoy spoiling my grandchildren. I am looking forward to getting to know Alabama better.

Why I am a Mormon

Why I became a Mormon is a long story. I have never belonged to a church before. I didn't think it was for me and the churches I went to occasionally I felt like I didn't belong, an outsider infringing on their space. My daughter and her family are Mormon and the missionaries began coming over once a month for dinner. We would talk about the Mormon religion and they would do their teaching. Of course I didn't know at the time they were teaching me. Eventually I surcumbed to learning about the church and how it came about. I began going to the church and when I entered, I felt like a blanket of warmth was wrapped around me. The people are amazing and so gracious. I really do feel like I am in God's house. I am looking forward to going to the Temple. I hear that the experience it incredible.

How I live my faith

I am a convert to the Mormon church. I am so new to this, however I am going to become a visiting teacher soon. I was involved in the "emergency prepariness fare" and really enjoyed that. I am still a baby Mormon (64) and still learning about our religion.

What are some things that tell you there is a God?

Bev
I believe there is a God. I see the miracles everyday. When you wake up and see the sunrise, or look at the trees, the grass, a butterfly or lady bug. How about a new life being born, a baby, a deer, a cat or dog. The human life for example is one of the most intriguing inventions on this earth. Think of how the brain itself works, our thoughts, longings, learning. When I enter the LDS church I feel at peace and I know another entity other than life does indeed exist, God Almighty our Creator. Show more Show less
