Hi I'm Sidney

I'm a BYU student studying Conservation Biology. I love new places and meeting new people. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a college student studying Conservation Biology. I'm hoping to someday to travel and do research in this field. I love science and learning about nature. I grew up in a family who loved the outdoors. From hiking to camping to boating we loved it all and today those things are still things that I enjoy doing. I played many sports in high school like basketball and cross country, but now I mostly run. I do it for fun, and I do it competitively once in a while as well. I love spending time with my family and friends, they really do help me to always improve and be the best I can!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised as a member of the LDS Church. My parents taught me as I was raised, but I didn't gain a solid testimony of the Gospel until I was a teenager. I came to understand around that time that God was aware of me and that He loved me for who I was and wanted me to succeed. With that knowledge I did what I could to learn more. Today it is through the scriptures, prayer, and the words of the living Prophet that testify to me that the Lord lives. Being a Mormon also gives my a sense of community. Being a member of a ward is like an extension of my family. From the teachers that taught me, to the leaders I had as a youth, I have been strengthened and taught in ways that couldn't have happened if I weren't a member. These people were role models to me and taught me not only who I was but who I could become.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by serving those around me. I've found that one of the best ways to grow closer to Christ is to follow his example and live a life full of charity. I attend a singles ward with other college students. Helping in the ward by teaching lessons and planning activities is what I've loved about being in a ward. Through studying the scriptures and by personal prayer I've been able to gain a testimony of this Church and of the Lord. It really brings so much joy and peace into my life.
