Hi I'm Kami

I am married to my best friend. I am a mother. I love mountain biking, hiking, and snowboarding. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up on farms in Alaska and Idaho. I met my husband in college in Utah. I was a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) before I decided to be a full time mom . I have worked and volunteered in several hospitals and nursing homes, and love working with the geriatric population. My favorite things are spending time outdoors with my family (hiking, running, biking, working), reading biographies and memoirs, and sleeping. Being a stay at home mom has been one of the hardest, yet most rewarding things I have ever done. I feel very blessed to be able to do that.

Why I am a Mormon

I chose, at first, to be a Mormon because of my parent's example. I saw how they handled very tumultous challenges ranging from serious illnesses to huge financial difficulties. I saw them turn to God in those hard times. Although their trials weren't always quickly taken away, there was a steady peace in our home. I want my family to experience that same peace in our home now. I realized very quickly that everything in this world can change so quickly. The only unchanging thing is God and His love for His Children. He wants us to be happy and have peace- not only after this life, but right now while we are here. He sent His Son to provide and show us the way to do that. Life can be cruel and very challenging. Why not have the peace and direction that comes from living the Restored Gospel? I choose to continue in my church membership because I have experienced the great peace and joy that comes in following the Savior. It gives my life meaning and purpose. It helps me be a better wife, a better mother, a better neighbor, and a better person.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by making and keeping covenants with Heavenly Father to keep His commandments and to serve and forgive others. I really try to follow the Savior's example in all that I do. There are so many opportunities to serve others all around us. I try not to just say, "Let me know if you need anything." Instead, I try to think of what someone needs and then offer that to them.
