Hi I'm David

I was born in Newfane, New York and joined the church when I was 9. I love playing video games and drawing. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I currently live (well, my family does) in Elk Ridge, Utah. I am currently serving a mission in the Mississippi Jackson Mission. Back home, I enjoyed listening to music (namely Rock and Electronic). I like art which is why I enjoy drawing and I have been working on my drawing skills. Another thing I also like is exercising and working out. At the end of the day, I would play on my computer or my PS3. After my mission, I am planning on going to Utah Valley University to study in Digital Media and land my dream job as a video game developer and designer! Or as an astronomer because I do like astronomy. Or I could be an artist or 3D animator.

Why I am a Mormon

One of the reasons why I joined the church was because I wanted to. When the missionaries first came to our home, I knew there was something different about them. Before they left, I asked them if I could have one of their books. it was called the Book of Mormon and I treasured that book even to this day. I still have the orginal book that I had received through all of these years. I eventually got baptized and became a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Ever since I joined, I believed in the truths that were held within the Book of Mormon and I urge anyone to read it and when they were done reading it to do what it directs, to pray to see if it was true.

How I live my faith

I often help my ward where in the past I had participated in scouting and hometeaching. Eventhough, I moved on from scouting, I still help out on some projects like Eagle projects. during my scouting years, I had helped out alot with others and gave service to my community. I helped out gathering food for the Utah Food Bank and the Kiwanis Club in Springville. I also helped serve Thanksgiving Dinner to those that were less fortunate or unable to afford a normal Thanksgiving Dinner. I always felt joy whenever I was helping or giving service to others. I am right now currently serving a mission in the Mississippi Jackson Mission. Since, I came here on my mission, it have been pretty rough but I'd also had some enjoyable times as well. I wouldn't say that it was the best two years of my life, but I would say that it is like climbing Mount Everest. And I do that I am out here to serve our Savior and to do his will. I truly do appreciate giving service to those that need help.

Do Mormons regard the Bible as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

David
Yes we do regard the Bible as a word of God. It is one of the most treasured pieces of scripture in our church as well as throughout all of Christianity. The Book of Mormon basically adds onto the Bible with many things that were once held within the Bible but were lost. The Bible tells of the things Our Savior did before he was begotten in the flesh and what his apostles did after his resurrection. Show more Show less
