Hi I'm Jillian

I'm a Graphic Designer. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a student in my senior year of college. I also work painting murals and faux finishes. I'm married to the best man I've ever met. He is my absolute best friend.

Why I am a Mormon

I wasn't raised in the Church. My mom became a member in her late teens, but went inactive shortly afterwards. When I was very young my dad insisted that we go to church. This lead to his baptism, but my family went inactive by the time I was three years old. Although we didn't attend church, missionaries would periodically visit my family. One day when I was around fourteen a missionary gave me a Book of Mormon and challenged me to read it. It sat in a drawer in my room for about two years. One day I had a feeling that I needed to read it. I read the account of Joseph Smith in the beginning of the Book of Mormon. The feeling I had in that moment is something I will never forget. After that experience I asked my parents if we could go to church that Sunday. They were apprehensive and expressed to me that they just weren't ready. I didn't let that stop me. There was a family in my neighborhood that I had babysat for a few times, and I knew they were members of the Church. I called them and asked if they would mind if I came to church with them that Sunday. The rest is history. I became very active in my youth group and my family finally started coming to church. After a year and a half my family was able to be sealed as a family in the Temple. My sister married her husband in the temple another year later, at which I met my husband. We were married one year after that. It was a whirlwind of an experience. I am so grateful for that feeling I had to read The Book of Mormon, which I now recognize was the Holy Spirit. I know this Church is true. I have lived with and without the Gospel. I know what both sides look like. I can't imagine my life now without it. I know that Jesus Christ is our Lord and Savior. I know that if we repent we can be forgiven. I know that Joseph Smith was a true prophet and that we have a prophet here on the earth, Thomas S. Monson. I know that this Church is the true church. I am grateful for it and I love it and I will continue to live it.

How I live my faith

I teach a the Sunday School class for the four year-olds in my ward. These kids are so much fun! I look forward to seeing them all week long. They inspire me to be better. I also enjoy helping with church events. I have contributed artistically to our church's Community Christmas Celebration, as well as organization of week-long camps for our young women. I'm a person with a lot of different interests, so it is fun to me that I can participate in so many different ways with the church and develop different talents.
