Hi I'm Kamila

I grew up in Iowa. I am a racquetball player and a percussionist. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently attending college out of state. I am studying Medical Laboratory Science and hope to one day work in the lab at a hospital. Science is absolutely fascinating to me. In my free time, I enjoy playing on the University Racquetball Team. It helps keep me in shape and the tournaments are a healthy outlet for my stress. During high school, I also participated a lot in music. I am a piano player and a marimba percussionist. Being able to play music is one of the best ways that I can express my thoughts and feelings. Music is an absolutely essential part of my life.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a follower of Jesus Christ and his teachings. This has always been an essential part of my quest to find the true gospel. That church has to contain the doctrine of the bible and truthfully follow it. I testify that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints contains the same doctrine that Christ taught to the people during His Earthly ministry. I have come to this realization through the testimony of the Holy Ghost and through my own studies. I have read the scriptures and prayed about them. I received a witness that the Book of Mormon and the Bible are true. My confirmation did not come as a grand witness, instead it was just a peaceful feeling. The gospel just feels right and makes sense. As I have continued to study and live the gospel, this witness has come again and again. The continual confirmations about this church have increased my faith over time until I knew that this gospel is true. I know that there is a loving God who is perfect. He loves me. He cares for me. He wants me to be happy. He knows my needs. He knows my wants. He knows my future. Therefore, He knows how to lead me through this life. He created a perfect plan so that one day we can return to heaven and be reunited with Him. That is what I am striving for in this life. With His help, I know I can go home. The gospel of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is Christ's church here on Earth. My testimony of this is my most important possession. It has given me the knowledge of why I am here, who I am, and where I am going. This gospel has been a solid foundation that has proven to be an anchor to my soul in the chaos of this world. I know it is true. I love it. I live it. I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

Right now I am a leader of one of the youth groups. We meet together once a week for one hour. It starts with a spiritual thought and then we have a fun activity where we bond together. Having this group at college is extremely helpful for me because they have become my family away from home. Not only do I help out with this group, but I have recently gotten interested in family history work. This is a project that my dad has really helped me out with. Together we have been looking for lost families. It is such a fantastic experience for me as I trace my family tree back through the years and tie in lost individuals. This is my family! I have grown to love genealogy work.
