Hi I'm Kevin

I am a Mechanical Engineering student, a father of two little girls, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a Mechanical Engineering graduate student studying innovative ways to test jet engines for future types of aircraft. I am married and am a father of two little girls. I love to take pictures of them and share them with my extended family. In what little free time I have, I love spending time with my family, being outdoors, playing games with my wife, and making pizza.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know it is what God wants for me. Recently in one of my school courses, a professor was talking about a group that he goes to where they debate the existance of God in a scientific framework trying to prove or disprove his existance. While academically intresting for sure, I realized that this is not how I know God exists and that He loves me. I know it becouse many years ago I read the Book of Mormon and I prayed to God, asking him to help me understand for myself that it is true. And it happened. God is there, you just need to ask Him and he will reveal Himself. Was it an angel or a trumpet? No it was the still small voice of the spirit. The same one that made the Apostles say that their 'hearts did burn within [them]'. After that first real experience with the spirit, I was no expert, but I knew enough to know that it was true. I have since learned so much about the gospel and God's plan for me. I am still no expert, but little by little, God will teach the willing.

How I live my faith

For the longest time I was a teacher of adults in my local church group. It was great to go through the scriptures and pick out things that could help not only myself but others to come nearer to God. It really helped me to stay focused in the scriptures and learn to understand God's word as I had to teach a different lesson every Sunday. I have since been asked to help out the church leadership in a wider geographical region. It has amazed me how the leaders of our church care for every single person they are responsible for. No one is a number in the Mormon church, you are a name, a face, a life worth helping, and a soul worth saving.
