Hi I'm Jared Holden

I was born and raised in Boise, Idaho. Currently living in Tokyo, Japan. I study International Business. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I love music, listen and playing. I play the piano and the mandolin and just love playing what's ever on my mind. I'm currently a missionary but plan to study at Japan's Waseda College for International Business. When ever I have any free time I enjoy playing sports, especially Rugby, and I love to spend time with friends. I'm 20 years old and am the youngest child of 5 children, and a pround uncle to 5 nieces and nephews.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents are both members of the church, so we say "we were born into the church" for the reason. However, like everyone I had to find out for myself if it was true or not. In the Book of Mormon, Another Testament of Jesus Christ there is a promise written in the Book of Moroni that says "If ye (you) shall ask with a sincere heart, with real intent, having faith in Christ, he will manifest the truth of it unto you, by the power of the Holy Ghost." Once I read this I really wanted to know for myself. The night came that I had planned to ask in prayer if this church was true or not, if the Book of Mormon was true or not. I was both excited and nervous at the same time. I was excited to know once and for all if it was really true or not, but what if it wasn't true, what would I do than? Well, during that prayer I really wanted to express thanks for all of the things I had felt blessed to have, but still I wasn't feeling anything. After sharing all of the thanks I felt I finally decided to ask, the make or break it moment. Up until then I had not felt anything, but the very moment I asked "Is the Book of Mormon true, is it your words and your church?" a feeling that was familiar, yet I had never really felt came over me. From my toes to my head I felt this warmth that just filled my heart with such happiness and joy that it's hard to describe, but that was the spirit that was promised I'd feel. Ever since that day I've known for myself that The Book of Mormon is true, and since that was true the one who translated it, Joseph Smith really was a prophet of God. Everyone is different, I got my answer of that first prayer, but if you don't get it on the first, God is just waiting for the timing that would be best for you to know.

How I live my faith

I'm currently serving as a full time missionary in Tokyo Japan, and I live my faith by example. I know that God loves me and all those around me, so I love to always be cheerful!
