Hi I'm Tonya

I live in a small town in south central Pa. I work for and eye doctor. Mother of two wonderful children. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I and a mom of two boys, I like to play games, read, hunt, fish, woodworking, gardening, and crocheting. I love spending time with my family and enjoy when we can do something that requires no TV. I work part-time, and help with a little flea market. I love to go yard shopping and second hand stores looking for off the wall things, bargains, and treasures.

Why I am a Mormon

The next day I worked, I came in a said in our crowded store hey, I want to know more about being a Mormon. She said that was a happy day for her, she invited me to dinner with the missionaries and I pretty much knew after the first lesson, I wanted to be baptized, and definitely after the second. When I first went to church, everyone made me feel so welcome, like I was a lost family member that finally made in home, than I learned there was no passing of the plate and everyone was there on volunteer basic, no one was being paid to preach to me. They didn't, they talk to you and teach you and do it on a level that you understand. I was like: Wow! When Jesus Christ walked the earth, he wasn't being paid, he is the one that paid for our sins, everything made sense. I bear witness to you, that if you are reading this, it is because you are searching for something, my search is over, I know the Lord lives, he died for our sins and has been resurrected, I know that the book of Mormon is true, that an uneducated boy could not write a book of that confounded scripture without the spirit and direction and power of the holy ghost, that if you would not judge it's cover and read the inside, and pray, you too will know of it's truth; and I say this humbly in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

How I live my faith

I help in Primary in our Branch, we are a small unit and all of us have several callings. I love to cook and organize gatherings. I love to feed our Missionaries. I like reading scripture and teaching my children how to live their life as best as they can. I teach them to do service and be helpful in anyway that they can. I teach them about their ancestors and how important they are and our history. I ran out of room below: so, I will start my story of Why I am a Mormon up here. As I was growing up I attended an Assembly of God church, I could never understand the passing of the plate and more money for this and that, I knew the bible said to give your 10%, I gave what my parents or aunt gave me to put in. I also, could not understand when people jumped up and started ramblings that I couldn't understand, than I was taught that meant you spoke in tongue, which made no sense to me, because, I knew that the Lord loved everyone and if some talked like that the rest of us should understand it. I didn't go to church much in my late teens or early twenties, I never even heard of the term Mormon, until I worked with one at our local convenience store, than I met a fellow and we started dating, when religion came up, he told me he was a Mormon.
