Hi I'm Tyler

I am a college student, computer programmer, volunteer, and a Mormon.

About Me

I am a college student currently working towards a degree in Aerospace Engineering. I love to work with computers and I have worked on many projects in computer programming, graphic design, and webpage development (as well as other areas). I also love to volunteer and get involved in my community. When I am not working on one of my many projects, I can be found reading, enjoying music, or playing games with friends and family. Some of my favorite literature includes the Inheritance Cycle, the Ranger's Apprentice Series, and the Percy Jackson/Heroes of Olympus books among others.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know that this is Christ's true church. Through experiences in my life and through my own personal investigation, I have come to know for my self that our Father in Heaven loves me as well as each and every one of his children here on Earth, and he wants me to be as joyful as I can be in this life. The fullness of the gospel as taught in the Book of Mormon has shown me how to live so that I am happy despite the many challenges that I will have in this life.

How I live my faith

I have served in a couple of callings in the church that have allowed me to serve my fellow members. As the a leader in my youth group, I served and taught my fellow youth and helped to plan group activities and projects and now as the Ward Chorister in my ward, I have been able to serve my fellow members by taking part in bringing music into their Sunday worship. The values and standards I have learned as a member of the church are evident in my everyday life as a student, friend, and family member. Because of the gospel of Jesus Christ, I have the opportunity to become a better person, and I work to do better every day. I also live with the knowledge that we are all sons and daughters of God, and that I need to treat others with the respect and kindness that God expects me to.

Who wrote the Book of Mormon?

Tyler
As stated on its cover, The Book of Mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ. It was written and compiled on plates by prophets who lived on the American Continent. Those plates where buried in the earth until Joseph Smith was instructed by the Lord to recover and translate them through the power of the spirit. There is no way that Joseph Smith could have translated The Book of Mormon except that he was guided by the power of God. Show more Show less
