Hi I'm Jenny Baker

I am a mother to five daughters and I own a music business. I am not good at holding still or being quiet!

About Me

I like to be busy. Even when I was a child I would always have some sort of "project" happening. I organized a bake sale to raise money for the neighbor kids to go see the latest "Muppet Movie" when I was 8, I was the "premier" babysitter for my area by the time I was 11, and I started a music education studio when I was 14. Raising my five daughters is my favorite undertaking. It is always an adventure. Each daughter is uniquely awesome! They like to take on "projects" too and keep my husband and I running! I love being in love with my husband. Being "in love" is a choice that I make everyday. It is wonderful that I have someone to grow with. We have learned a lot together and I hope to learn so much more! My family is my greatest joy!

Why I am a Mormon

I come from a long line of people who fight for religious freedom! My Irish ancestors stood strong for their Catholic faith, my English ancestors came to America on the Mayflower, My German ancestors traveled with the Dutch Indian Trading Company to America in the 1600's with their Bible in their hands and My Danish ancestors sold all they had to travel to America to join the Mormons in Utah. I have felt this same desire to serve God from a very early age. It has never occured to me that there is any other way to be! I am a Mormon because I see, so clearly, that I am greater than just me! My ancestors are a part of me and my children and yet-to-be-born grandchildren are a part of me! I will live my life, as my ancestors did, to provide a better future for my progenitors!

How I live my faith

I live in an area that has experienced much flooding recently, which is funny because we live in a desert! Many of my neighbors have watched their houses be destroyed by rising rivers. Others have had homes fill with red mud! These are terrible tragedies that have enriched my life! I know, that is an odd statement! But I have been a part of great relief efforts that have brought neighbors together and has strengthened my faith in the human race! There is nothing like putting on work clothes, grabbing buckets and shovels and working shoulder to shoulder with strangers who soon become dear friends!
