Hi I'm Ally

I grew up in many different places in the US. I have a large family with 3 adopted siblings that I love. I am a mormon

About Me

I'm currently a college student and as of right now, I'm planning on studying nursing. I love learning about our amazing bodies and the things that we can do! In high school I ran track and cross country and I was also on the swim team. I still love running and swimming and I try to do them regularly. I'm running a half marathon in March and I'm so excited! My goal is to someday be able to do an iron man triathlon! I have 6 siblings: 3 brothers and 3 sisters and I am right in the middle! .They are each amazing examples to me and they are my best friends. My 3 younger siblings were all adopted after my mother could no longer have children. My two younger brothers were adopted when I was three and they were sealed to us in the LDS temple in Colorado. My youngest sister was just recently adopted and was sealed to us in the Salt Lake temple, August 2011. It has been such a blessing to have each of them in our family and I don't know what I would do without them. I also have two amazing parents who have been there for me every step of the way and are definitely my biggest fans! My dad is in the military and so my family has moved around a lot! Tangled is my all time favorite movie and I definitely believe that all little girls are princesses! I have just recently been called to serve as a full time missionary in the Mesa, Arizona Spanish speaking mission. I can't wait to serve all of the wonderful people in Mesa! I am Ally and I am a Mormon!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I love who it has helped me to become. Growing up it was always hard knowing that there were certain things I couldn't do because of what I believed but now I can see what it was all for. I am not dependent on drugs for happiness because the gospel has given me a greater longer lasting happiness. I do not need to dress immodestly to get attention because I know that I have a Heavenly Father who loves me for who I am, not the way I look. I am not completely lost when a family member dies because I KNOW my family will be together FOREVER! Isn't that amazing? I know that because I can FEEL it. The book of Mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ and I have read it many times. Each time I read it I know it is true. I love that book and I know that you will too if you read it. But aside from all of that, I am a Mormon because I know that I have a living savior, Jesus Christ, who suffered for my sins. Because of him, I can be clean and pure and live with him forever! He went through all of that pain because he loves me personally and I know he loves you too. No matter what you have done in your life, I know that he will make up the difference to help you. You are never alone. HE LIVES and That is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I am currently serving in the church in my area as the second counselor in the relief society presidency. The Relief Society is one of the world's largest organizations of women that we have in our church for women of all ages to administer to other's needs. We do our best to look out for the young women in our ward and we all work together to include all the girls and create a good environment. We are centered around service and we try to do as much as we can to help those around us. We are able to get to know all of the girls and care for them together as a ward through a program which we call visiting teaching. In visiting teaching we are each assigned to a couple girls who we are responsible for helping to care for their needs. Each month we go over and check up on them and help them with anything they are struggling with it! I love it so much when these girls come over! It is such a great way to make friends! I am also involved in a lot of service in my community. Each week I tutor little children at an elementary school nearby along with playing with special needs kids in an indoor swimming pool and going to a center for families with disabled children on Friday nights to help babysit their children so that they can have a night off.
