Hi I'm Jes

I'm a wife, a mom and a photographer. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in a small town and was the only student in my class to go out of state for college. I graduated with an English degree in hopes of getting into Marketing and Design later. I am currently an academic adviser at the college level. I've been married for 3 years and we recently added a son to our family. I am enjoying remodeling and decorating our new home. I also enjoy photography.

Why I am a Mormon

I am both a convert and someone who has been a member all of her life. My mom raised me in the Mormon faith while my father, although supportive, was not a member. I had many opportunities to question why I was a Mormon. If my dad, who is the best man I know, would not be baptized, why would I want to be Mormon? What kept him from joining the church? As he began to answer those same questions I had to find my own answers too. For me what it comes down to is family. I love family, both immediate and extended. I am blessed with wonderful in-laws as well. The thought of not being with my family after this life is troubling. In His church we have the opportunity to be sealed to each other in the temple, His house, for eternity. My father is now a Mormon as well. Our family has been sealed for time and all eternity and I can't think of a better blessing than that.

How I live my faith

I currently help set up activities for the women in the church. We set up book groups, play groups, and classes on ways to improve our skills. Some of the classes include photography, cutting hair, crafts and food storage. Other activities we set up are holiday parties or anything the women are interested in. I love serving the women with this because it helps them discover new hobbies and passions. I am the type of person who wants to be good at everything and this is a way for us all to discover what we're good at and have help with the things we're not.
