Hi I'm Mary Jane

I am a daughter, sister, aunt, a missionary, a German speaker, a wannabe graphic designer, und Ich bin Mormonin.

About Me

When I'm not preaching the good word to the good people in Germany, I am a student at Brigham Young University, hoping to study Graphic Design. But until August, I have set that aside to serve in Germany as a full-time missionary. I remember telling a woman on a train once, what we did as missionaries. She told me it was a "schöne Aufgabe", a beautiful assignment, and that's exactly what it is. I cherish the experiences I have each day here. I love art, good music, long train rides through little German towns. I love the city of Bonn, my sweet family, and the missionaries I work with.

Why I am a Mormon

It's so funny, how the most difficult moments in your life can teach you the most. It is through the comfort and counsel I have recieved in trials that I have a living testimony that God lives and loves me.Through each hardship in which I have turned to God, through prayer and through the scriptures, I have found peace, and have grown to be more than I ever thought I could be. I am grateful for the happiness which this gospel brings and for the changes that it brings. In Mosiah 2:41 it says: "I would desire that ye should consider on the blessed and happy state of those that keep the commandments of God. For behold, they are blessed in all things, both temporal and spiritual; and if they hold out faithful to the end they are received into heaven, that thereby they may dwell with God in a state of never-ending happiness. O remember, remember that these things are true; for the Lord God hath spoken it." What promises are given in this verse alone! I know that this is true. I've had a taste of that never-ending happiness here on Earth. I know that it is through Jesus Christ that this is available to me. I am so thankful for the witness that both The Bible and The Book of Mormon give of Him.

How I live my faith

I have the great opportunity to serve as a full-time missionary in the Germany Frankfurt Mission. The changes that I have seen the gospel make in others' lives have changed me forever. Watching someone feel God's presence for the first time, seeing them gain their own faith, have their fears calmed and their questions answered is an indescribable experience. There is a lot of sacrifice that goes into serving a mission, but the reward far exceeds that sacrifice. I am so grateful to see my faith and the faith of others grow everyday.
