Hi I'm Maddi

I love life for all the ups and downs. I have a passion for saving lives, running marathons, singing, and travel. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My life motto is "life is good!" I believe in being silly, having fun and taking challenges as they come. I love to smile and laugh until my guts ache. I love the gospel of Jesus Christ, nothing has ever brought me such full and complete joy as knowing that the Savior loves me and through him and only because of him I can become what God intends me to be.

Why I am a Mormon

I've learned that true conversion is a life long process. I remember once thinking that a big moment like in the bible or the Book of Mormon would suddenly and miraculously change my life and I'd be converted to Jesus Christ and His gospel. I read my scriptures, I attended my church meetings, I prayed, but that striking moment never came for me. I was enlightened when an apostle, Elder David A. Bednar gave a talk about how testimony is a slow and steady, life long process to conversion. One of my favorite quotes from him says, "You have to act in accordance to what you know to be true, and then the power comes." It takes time and patience but I've realized that the Lords hand is in my life every step of the way and in the smallest of details. Everyday I learn more and everyday I can be better. He knows me. One of the principles I love most about my faith is that I know that God lives and I am his daughter. I have infinite worth and can one day be like him; I believe all of his children here on Earth can. My belief that we are all God's children and we all have so much worth that Jesus Christ gave his life for each of us to gain eternal happiness significantly affects the way I see those around me and how I interact with all of His children. My faith gives me excitement and direction for my future and I look forward with optimism in a world that would otherwise be confusing and dark with out my Savior. I see the light and happiness that the gospel brings into my life and those around me and I am overwhelmed by God's infinite love.

How I live my faith

I recently had the opportunity to represent my Savior Jesus Christ full-time! I served as a missionary in Portland, Oregon, which is one of the most gorgeous places on earth! I truly believe that best way to love someone is to serve them and I believe that now more than ever after I had the chance to teach people about the restored gospel of Jesus Christ. I know that God is involved in the simplest details of our lives as I watch the many ways he blesses his children. Heavenly Father has given us countless sources of truth through the scriptures and modern day prophets and I get to testify and guide people to these blessings each day as I live and apply the gospel in my own life-the blessings show! I know that as I strive to emulate Jesus Christ, I can help others and find the true source of happiness and life fulfillment through obedience to God's commandments and aligning our lives to follow the Savior.

What is faith?

Faith is an action word. Faith is not blind belief, in fact, I like to see faith as trust more than anything. It is trust in the Savior and his commandments, with the assurance that he has our happiness and best interests in mind with an understanding of who each have the potential of becoming. In Isaiah 55:8-9, he teaches "my thoughts are not your thoughts, nor your ways, my ways". When we believe in Christ we are motivated to become more like him through consistently seeking to serve His children and keep His commandments. Show more Show less
