Hi I'm Kali

I spent my childhood growing up in Alaska and Hawaii and living life in the great outdoors. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have lived in several places while growing but most of my childhood was spent in both Alaska and Hawaii. I come from a family of 9 children. I have 5 older brothers, 2 younger sisters and a younger brother, all three of the younger ones have been adopted. I am currently attending college as an elementary education major but may switch to business communications and am studying to learn Korean and hope to teach English classes in Korea someday or work for a business as an inturpreter. I have lived around many different ethnic groups while growing up but mostly my life was spent around groups from Asian backgrounds which has made me and my family very immersed in different Asian cultures for me it is mostly Koreans but also Japanese and Chinese. I am apart of all three of these Asian clubs at school. I love the outdoors and spend a lot of time hiking and doing outdoor activities though my school. I am also going to be serving a mission in El Salvador, San Salvador speaking Spanish in November.

Why I am a Mormon

I have a Big family and all of us were raised in the church. My mom is a convert she got baptized at 20 while my father has been a member all his life although his parents were mostly inactive. I have 5 older brothers all of who I was really close to while young but as I watched them while growing up I noticed not all things in there lives were good or in harmony with what we were taught. I watched as one by one my brothers faltered and left the church. As I watched this instead of making the same mistakes they did I learned from them. Most of brothers have very sad and unhappy lives and I knew this was not what I wanted my life to be like. At 15 I decided if I wanted to be different and to try to make a happy life for myself than I had to first find out for myself whether the church was true and that is what I set about doing and I gained a testimony that this church is true. Although it can be hard to live this way and to follow all the commandments God has given I know what I am doing and the way I am living is what God wants for me and that he loves me and is always there for me and that what this church teaches is true and has made me very happy and that is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I have done lots of service in my community, mainly in high school I volunteered to help out in the cub scouts. Also I made gift packages for military personal. I have held many callings through the church most recently as a Family Home Evening supervisor. I volunteer at elementary schools helping with after school programs and have worked with many groups that help with mentally handicapped children. I love children and working with them and I enjoy helping others. I am also Preparing to serve a mission in El Salvador.
