Hi I'm Austin Terry

I'm a recent grad in Mechanical Engineering, grew up in Washington state, and married to a beautiful Filipina. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a Mechanical/Design Engineer. I love math and art and love to exercise and lift weights with my wife. We are both nerds for Star Wars and can't wait to share all of our common interests with our future kids. I've grown up in a house hold of six kids and a mom and dad. I love my family and every one of my siblings because we have grown strong together and we help each other and have a lot of fun with one another. My wife and I wish to raise a good sized family soon.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and have been raised in a great family where I have always been taught and catered to good behavior in my youth. My parents have always encouraged me to do good and have shown me by example how to be an honest and faithful person. As I grew older I chose to continue in the path that my parents have shown me. I gained a testimony of the truthfulness of this church little be little. I served a two-year mission in the Philippines where I learned to serve other people, invite them to come unto Christ, to love them and forget my own problems and concerns. I know what I taught about the Restoration of Christ's church in these latter days is true and that we have a living prophet of God today in this dispensation as it was in past dispensations. God has answered my prayers time and time again. I have beheld his hand and guidance in my life. I have felt the Holy Ghost and the confirmation that the Book of Mormon is a true book and that it is indeed another Testament of Jesus Christ. I am a Mormon because I know that Christ restored his Church through the prophet Joseph Smith and that he translated the Book of Mormon through the power of God. I am a Mormon because I know that someday I will have the chance to live with my Heavenly Father again in his Kingdom with my wife and eternal family. I know that someday I can become like my father in heaven.

How I live my faith

I love to serve other people and help them where they need help. I love to teach other people and help them understand, whether it be in engineering or in the church. At work, I answer people's questions about my faith. At church, I teach classes about basic gospel doctrines. I love to teach through example and through the scriptures. I utilize the resources I have such as the scriptures: the Bible, the Book of Mormon, Doctrine and Covenants, Pearl of Great Price, and all of the word of God as revealed through his prophets. I teach others through the scriptures, referring and quoting words told by the prophets of old and by prophets of recent times. When I was in school I served other people through voluntary services such as Student Support; An organized Support program for all new students.

Are Mormons Christians?

Austin Terry
Mormons are Christians. We worship our Savior Jesus Christ and recognize His Atonement for our sins. Every thing that we do and teach in the church has a connection to the Atonement of Jesus Christ. We believe that Jesus Christ is Jehovah of The Old Testament and Christ of the New Testament. He is the Son of the Father and a part of the Godhead, which is one God: God the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost. He was the only one that could make an infinite atonement for all of God's children, because He was perfect. The laws of justice had no hold on Him, therefor he could reclaim us from the Fall of Adam through the power of His Atonement, which power is mercy. Mercy is His help to reclaim us on accord of our faith and repentance. He had power to overcome physical death, which is the resurrection. He lives today and directs His church. Show more Show less
