Hi I'm Mike
I love to learn as much as I can. I love my family and friends. I like good movies, books, and music. And I'm a Mormon.
About Me
I'm a college student studying electrical engineering and I love to be involved in all sorts of activities. I enjoy singing in choir and dancing in addition to my studies. I served a mission for the Church in Southern California, and that experience shaped my life to be even more committed to follow Jesus Christ.
Why I am a Mormon
I'm a Mormon because I know the Book of Mormon is true. I have read it and prayed about it, and I can't deny the truth that is there. Because I know that the Book of Mormon is true, I know that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. I speak the way I do, act the way I do, and live the way I do because of my testimony of Jesus Christ. What I want more than anything is to be like Jesus Christ. I believe with my whole soul that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is really led by Jesus Christ Himself, it is His Church. It makes sense and it feels right. I want to follow Jesus Christ. And that's why I'm a Mormon.
How I live my faith
I find a real peace as I read in the scriptures and pray daily. I believe that as I read the word of God that He gives me a portion of His power to do good and help others. It's interesting to me how if I neglect that scripture study and prayer I feel weaker and less able to handle challenges and temptations. I have realized that I am rather weak when I am not drawing close to God, but he strengthens me when I am. I also enjoy serving people, from helping someone move in to simply holding a door open. I feel like the power I find in the scriptures also motivates me to serve like I know Jesus Christ would if He were here right now. I guess mostly I just like the good feeling of knowing I did something to help someone else.
