Hi I'm Rachel Haslam

I'm a tall funny weird blonde girl.

About Me

I am one of two adopted children in my family. I was adopted from New Orleans, Louisiana, and my younger brother was adopted from Utah. Adoption is something that is really special in our family. It's a miracle we all ended up together the way we did. The way that whole thing was orchestrated was not a coincidence, I was meant to be adopted into my family. I am a music freak, I play the guitar, piano, and have been singing since age 7, I love performing. Going to concerts of my favorite artists is something that gives me so much joy and adrenaline. I was able to go to Coldplay twice this summer in LA and also in SLC, I literally cried during their concerts I was so happy haha. I am 29 and live in Orem, Utah. No I'm not married, but that wouldn't have anything to do with who I am anyway. As much as I want to be married I enjoy so many things about life as a young single adult. I love to travel, I love photography, I love going on roadtrips with my friends and getting to know new people, I love skiing (all you winter haters out there probably don't ski because if you did you would absolutely love winter), hanging out with my family, cooking, baking...I enjoy a lot of things.

Why I am a Mormon

I am Mormon because I know that nothing else in this world could bring me greater happiness or peace. Yes I was raised in the church, but I have come to know for myself that if I didn't have the gospel in my life I wouldn't have the peace of mind that I do. There have been too many times in my life where I have seen and felt the hand of the Lord testify to me that He and his gospel is real, there's no way I could ever deny it.

How I live my faith

What I love most about the gospel is that it is centered on families, service, doing good to others, and following the example Jesus Christ set. The gospel is so simple and I feel that I am happiest when I am following the commandments and doing the little things. I'm nowhere near perfect, lately I've been struggling with reading my scriptures every day, it's something I'm not proud of but something I'm working on because I know the peace it can bring. How I live my faith is by "trying" every single day. Even though I don't succeed most of the time, I am still trying, and that's all that matters in the end.
