Hi I'm Kaitlin S.

I'm the baby of the family. I'm a college student. I love everything clothing, blog, or math related. And I'm a mormon!

About Me

I love all things clothing, makeup, and nail polish. I love music and honestly would suffer without my iPod every morning. I love being outside especially if it includes camping, sailing, or cycling. I love numbers and formulas and being able to take something that at first glance makes no sense and turning it into something useful. I love to laugh and be with my family. I'm the youngest of four children and have the greatest family in the world! They mean everything to me. Although we're all out doing our own thing, our bond and love for one another has only become stronger and stronger. We support and lift and encourage each other. My family is one of the biggest blessing I've received in this life and will continue to be in the next life.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know that Christ's church was brought back to the earth through Joseph Smith. This wasn't something that I always knew. I grew up in the church and really took advantage of the things that I was taught. I think the time that I really came to know for myself that this was something I believed was after I moved out and started college. I really had to decide for myself if this was something that I wanted to believe and keep doing! No parents there to force me to go to church on Sundays. After some time trying to experiment doing things on my own, I came to realize that I couldn't do it on my own! I struggled trying to make decisions and my life really didn't have meaning. I was just living, nothing more than that. I was unhappy with my life. As I tried to fix things I went through all my options of what it could be. Was it where I was living? the college I attended? Roommates? My job? Finally, I realized that I was feeling the gap that only God, Christ, and the Holy Spirit could fill. I know with all my heart that this church is true. I know that it is the only thing that can bring a peace into my life that the world can't provide. I know on my own and for myself that this is something that I believe and live each day.

How I live my faith

I am currently serving as a full time missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day saints. I love sharing the message that Christ's church is on the Earth today and that we can search and ask and receive an answer that it is true. I live my faith each day by striving to be better. Heavenly Father, God, is so patient with me and stays by my side even when I make mistakes. I live my faith one day at a time, each day learning more about my Savior, Jesus Christ, and the happiness I can receive through his example and sacrifice.

Who wrote the Book of Mormon?

Kaitlin S.
The Book of Mormon is set up very similar to the Bible. It is made up of individual books written by prophets in the Americas 600 years before Christ to 400 years after. They, like the prophets in the Bible, recorded the revelations they received from the Holy Ghost so that they could teach the people and not be lost after their time had passed. The Book of Mormon really shows God's love for ALL his children. The people all over the world needed that message and direction, not just the people in Jerusalem. Heavenly Father called prophets and gave them that direction. The Book of Mormon is evidence of that love. Show more Show less

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

Kaitlin S.
No! Definitely not. Missions are something we do because we want others to have the happiness that comes from knowing Jesus Christ's kingdom is once again on the earth. Mormons' serve missions because they have seen the gospel change their lives and have come to know that what it teaches is true and they want that same knowledge and reassurance for those around them!
