Hi I'm Jacob

I'm a college student pursuing a career in oncology, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a college student currently studying nutritional science and pursuing a career in oncology, or the medicinal study of cancer. My mom has been battling breast cancer for 5 years, which has been a struggle of faith and courage for my family. I want to be able to help others fight cancer, and to be able to give comfort and encouragement coming from my own experience with the disease. I wrestled and ran cross country and track in high school, and I still enjoy playing sports and being active today. I was also a producer of a TV show through my high school's nationally recognized broadcast journalism program. I love videography and graphic design, and I hope to be able to use these talents to make lasting memories for my future family. I love music, playing piano, and living optimistically.

Why I am a Mormon

I love being a Mormon because it brings me so much happiness. When I am doing my best to follow the example of Jesus Christ and keep His commandments, I find purpose. I find inspired guidance and direction. I find that my love for my family is stronger and my relationships with others are more meaningful. I find strength and courage to overcome the difficulties of life, both big and small. I also know that the countless blessings that I have found in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints are available to every person that acts on faith in Jesus Christ in doing His will.

How I live my faith

I love to actively participate in service in the church. During my first year in college, I served as the executive secretary in my ward. It was such a wonderful experience to work with the bishopric and help keep the ward organized. I learned firsthand that local leaders of this church have so much love for the people they serve, and care deeply about their wellbeing. I am currently serving as a full-time missionary for the church in California. I love having the opportunity to bring others closer to Christ because missionary work brings a joy that I can't find anywhere else.
