Hi I'm Lestelle

I'm trying to elegantly survive three teenagers in one house. I'm an accidental food snob. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Don't judge me by the state of my kitchen.... By day I am a Six Sigma (process improvement) consultant. By night I run four children hither and yon, casually garden, fold laundry, feed the family over and over and over again, and occasionally soothe a nightmare or treat a fever. If there is time left over, I practice music. Once in a while, I even get the dishes done!

Why I am a Mormon

Just because you live a good life doesn't mean bad things won't happen to you. God put us in a world where economies cycle, people get sick, and sometimes people hurt other people. We don't always get to choose what happens to us. But we CAN choose how we react. Our Heavenly Father has a long term plan for us, a vision of what we can become. If we lean on Him, we won't be alone, and He will help us become the glorious person He sees in us. The gospel of Jesus Christ gives us perspective in hard times, and hope for the future. That's why I'm a Mormon.

How I live my faith

Life is not for the faint of heart. Everyone has a story, and sometimes that story has a few lines of pain, discouragement, and unmet expectations. I try to live my faith by reflecting to others the hope and light that has helped me through the inevitable dark times. Sometimes reaching out is just a warm smile and nod; sometimes it involves moving outside of your box and sacrificing a bit. I live my faith be serving God's children as best as I can.

Why is self-reliance important to Mormons? Why do Mormons talk about emergency preparedness?

Lestelle
You don't need a natural disaster to hit for you to have an emergency. Peace of mind is a valuable thing. We have had health issues turn our family upsidedown. Being prepared bought us the time we needed to gently adapt. Show more Show less
