Hi I'm Kalie

Learning is joy. Family is the best thing in this world and out of it. I love my Savior. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am married to a wonderful pure man. We are working towards being together forever. My husband and I moved to Germany three days after we got married in the temple for time and eternity. (He is amazing and got accepted to an internship across the ocean for three months.) I am attending Brigham Young University-Idaho studying Human Biology and Happiness (that is what I will pretend my minor is that I do not have). I love eating chocolate, making pancakes, making things clean, reading the words of ancient and modern prophets, recycling and reusing, and running through tree-covered grassy places (while wearing orange). I also love children and am excited to one day be a mother so I can be astonished at the deeper and purer wisdom of their precious spirits. I look forward to not being across the ocean anymore so I can see our family again.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was born, I was welcomed into a most wonderful family. My parents were married in the temple and have always been diligent followers of the Savior. I was always taught, and came to know for myself through the Spirit of God, that families can be together forever through making sacred covenants in God's house on the earth, which we call temples. These holy places are where we go to receive answers from God about difficulties we are facing in this learning and preparing experience called mortality. Temples are also where covenants with God are made. For those who have prepared themselves to be worthy by repenting of all their sins and continuing on the path of righteousness, promises with God are made here and we are given greater power through the grace of Jesus Christ to become far more than we could ever imagine alone. I know that God lives and is the father of our spirits. We knew him and had a close relationship with Him before we came to mortality. He sent His Son to set us the perfect example; to suffer for all of our sins, pains, and weaknesses; and ultimately to die for us and be resurrected so we can all live with our Father again and be reunited with our family. Sabbath meetings give me a time to think about the promises I have made with God and those things in my life that are not in line with His will. I love the simple truths of this gospel and I wish I could help you to learn them as well and be filled with heavenly peace even in the most trying times of your life.

How I live my faith

I am a follower of Jesus Christ, but He, in His infinite redeeming power, manages to walk right alongside me to help me and lift me to be able to walk in his sure footprints. I have the opportunity to participate in the church here in Germany by working with the Sister missionaries (who all speak native English). They give me a greater desire to serve and to share my witness of the truths of the restored gospel of Jesus Christ. I enjoy trying to smile all I can since I cannot speak German and hope that I can touch the hearts of the people around me.
