Hi I'm Josie!

I'm a lover, fighter, marathoner, student, fitness instructor, humanitarian, advocate, best friend... and one of those Mormons.

About Me

Right now, I'm currently at school studying a concoction of exercise and wellness with business management. I love long distance running, rock climbing, ropes course, hiking, strength training, teaching fitness... really anything outdoors and active. That's my happy place. I am from Idaho after all. I plan on spending my life in those environments helping a variety of people become their best selves, whatever that means to them.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in a Mormon home. My parents encouraged me to find out for myself what I believed. Since living on my own, I have found real peace and strength in the gospel of Jesus Christ through personal prayer and study. I believe in continuous revelation from God. Between the Holy Bible, Book of Mormon, and our dear modern prophet President Thomas S. Monson, I can see that God loves all His children-- past and present, here and everywhere. It doesn't make sense to me that God would only talk to some of His kids. Because of my passion for service, it's important to me to belong to a church that serves everyone. We not only believe God loves everyone, but we have programs that support humanitarian aid worldwide and that makes me happy. We have the means to do that because members pay 10% of their earnings to the Lord. Even as a student, I pay 10% of my earnings. I love how organized this church is and how good I feel when I live what I learn. The members of our church are imperfect, but I know that the organization and purpose of this church is perfect. The goal is to bring people to Christ. He is the Way back to our Father in Heaven, our God. One experience that solidified my testimony was my courtship with my sweet husband. We both had personal struggles that tore us apart for awhile-- me with mental illness, him with pornography addiction. Even though we had both been raised in the church, our choices and backgrounds were quite different. We loved each other and badly wanted it to work out, but we couldn't do it alone. Jesus Christ helped us understand, relate to, and forgive one another's weaknesses. Our relationship is my greatest treasure because of Jesus Christ. Because of Him, I get to live with my best friend happily, regardless of shortcomings, forever. My favorite thing about the church is its focus on families. Families are the best part of life and I'm so grateful I get to be sealed to my husband and our family forever.

How I live my faith

Serving God's children brings me joy. I have held various volunteer positions at school, church, and otherwise. To me, being a disciple of Christ means"forgetting yourself and getting to work". It means serving others one-be-one simply because you love them the way He loves you.
