Hi I'm Jacoby

I was born in Michigan, raised in Arizona, and called to serve as a missionary in El Salvador and Belize. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am very grateful to have been born into a family with parents that love and strive to follow Jesus Christ. I have been blessed to have spent my whole life as a Mormon. I love almost all sports (watching and playing). I enjoy keeping the body God has given me healthy through weight lifting, hiking, and especially volleyball. I was recently called as a representative of Jesus Christ by serving as a missionary in the El Salvador San Salvador West/Belize Mission. I am so excited to be able to spend the next two years of my life as a full-time missionary.

Why I am a Mormon

Simply put, I am a Mormon because the know this church is true. At the end of the Book of Mormon (Moroni 10:4-5), the reader is challenged to pray about the things the have learned and to sincerely ask God if they are not true. There is no better way to find out for yourself than to pray and ask your Father in Heaven. I am confident that anyone who does this "with a sincere heart, with real intent, having faith‍ in Christ," will know for themselves that the things in that book are correct, will grow closer to their Savior Jesus Christ, and will know "what they must do to gain peace in this life and eternal salvation in the life to come." I can testify of this because I have done it myself, and I have come to know - not through some huge manifestation but through a powerful witness from the Holy Ghost - that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is Christ's correct church on the earth today.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by being the best that I can be and by improving myself slowly each and every day. I have gotten into the habit of regularly studying the scriptures. This has been one of the best things I have ever done for my life. It helps me to know what God expects of me and how to meet those expectations. I as I mentioned earlier, I love hiking and being outside in the nature that God has created for us. Most of my closest feelings of peace and of Heavenly Father's love come from being away from all of our worldly distractions and spending my time in the great outdoors.

Why is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints called Mormons or Mormonism?

Jacoby
It is a nickname given to our church and church members because it is shorter, easier to remember, and comes from the ancient prophet Mormon, who was key in the role of compiling the scriptures we use today (hence the name the Book of Mormon). Show more Show less
