Hi I'm Elliot

I farmed in Idaho. I'm retired in Pittsburgh. I have a wife, 5 children and 16 grandchildren. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Photography was my first love. My chosen career was motion picture production. I earned my living at a nuclear facility in Idaho. I collect family histories, build time capsules, trained as an EMT, and teach seminars on emergency response and preparation. I'm a prepper but not a doomsday prepper. At most activities, I'm the guy with the camera. When I take a picture, I'm thinking about my audience, which is someone that hasn't been born. I think of it as part of history.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a fourth generation Mormon, married to a first generation Mormon. Even though I was raised by active church members, there came a time when I had to go through the conversion process. I had to know for myself it "all this stuff" was really worth the effort to know and to understand. I didn't have a vision or even a sudden understanding, but the truth was revealed to me. Since then, other truths have been revealed.

How I live my faith

Most everything I do is over shadowed by the church and its teachings. It is totally integrated into my existence so that I can not myself from my faith. The church is my foundation, my compass in a world of noise and confusion, my anchor in a storm of conflicting ideas. Two years ago, I was called to be the Bishop. It has been an almost overwhelming experience; fortunately, the Lord has helped me meet almost insurmountable challenges.
