Hi I'm Hayley

I'm an artist, devoted wife, compassionate friend and I'm a mormon.

About Me

Though raised in typical LDS fashion in Salt Lake City, I have always known that I am a distinct individual. I love to create: anything really, but painting will forever have my heart. I have a Bachelors of Fine Arts: Studio Art with emphasis in drawing and painting from Brigham Young University and value my education immensely. Have painted murals, illustrated childrens' books, painted portraits, taught art, created displays and more. Now I live with my husband in Chicago while he attends Booth School of Business and I continue my career in the arts.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised LDS but came to my own conversion after I read the Book of Mormon in High school. I felt a thirst for the truth I found there and found myself yearning with desire to live righteously. One day I was standing in the shower and thinking about the direction my life was going. I decided I would do whatever it took to be righteous and follow Christ. At the time, this meant giving up relationships with friends and the life i knew. I can trace the my position in life now back to that moment. I would not be the person I am today without choosing to follow Christ.

How I live my faith

The LDS church offers a lot of unique experiences to its members. Right now, mine is teaching senior nursery. Having previously taught preschool children for 2.5 years, I like to go the extra mile in catering to the children's' needs and interests. My art skills come in handy when I'm trying to make lessons memorable. I volunteer to teach with the missionaries on any possible occasion and love bearing my testimony to those searching for the truth. I also love sharing my beliefs and why I act the way I do to friends and colleagues unfamiliar with the LDS church. Living in Chicago has allowed me many more opportunities!
