Hi I'm LaKesha

I'm a Special Educator, a musician, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm an Early Intervention Special Education Teacher, and I absolutely love it! I graduated from BYU-Idaho with a degree in Early Childhood Special Education. My favorite thing to do is music, and I play piano, guitar, ukulele, and sing. I'm just an ordinary girl with an extraordinary desire to change someone's life for the better!

Why I am a Mormon

Being a member of the church has brought me so much peace, encouragement, and comfort in my life. There's no such thing as a bad day if I look toward the Lord. I'm a Mormon because I believe with all my heart that Jesus Christ lives. He wants us to all return back to His presence, and that's where I want to be. I want to live my life as if He was standing next to me, and being a member of this church helps me with that. There is no greater peace than living my life with the Lord at the center of it!

How I live my faith

Church is the most important thing to me. I love everything about it! I attend a student ward while I'm at college, where I participate with the music. I've been ward pianist and music coordinator where I chose the music for the week. I've been the Compassionate Service Leader, where I found those in my ward who might need an extra friend or need support and made sure they were happy and helped. I try to find ways each day to help someone in need, even if I don't know them. I listen for promptings about where I should go and how I can be in instrument of the Lord's hands, and I try to act on the promptings I receive.

What do Mormons believe about the Bible? Do they regard it as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

LaKesha
We believe the Bible to be the word of God, as far as it is translated correctly. We also believe the Book of Mormon to be the word of God. God spoke to His prophets in the days of the Bible, just as much as He speaks to our prophets on the earth today. We follow the instructions from the Lord that are found in the Bible. The words in the Bible teach us so much about who we are and about the love we feel from God. It provides sacred and important direction for our lives. Show more Show less
